Not a good stock level generally during my midday visit. Many gaps on the shelves and items not in the aisles as indicated on the overhead indicators, so had to search for them. A large part of the checkout area has been given over to the self service tills. There was a very long queue for these, and it was actually quicker to queue for the main tills, in spite of the fact that they had customers with generally a larger amount of shopping. Get rid of the self service tills, very few people like them. They are too slow to use without being trained on them. Fresh fruit looked good, but again, there were some gaps.

Friendly helpful staff but a poor choice and range of products to choose from and not for budget buying shopping as the prices are not optional due to the lack of product choice available. There is a pharmacy located within it but they didn't stock what I wanted and is pretty useless space since Lloyd's chemist is located next door to this branch of sainsburys I do like sainsburys but the branch located close to the centre of Hitchin is smaller than the other shops they have located in letchworth, stevenage or Luton a few miles away and if you can reach these instead you will probably find they have more to offer and better stock too

Unfortunately this particular store has been going steadily downhill for the past few years. Every time I shop there at least one item on my list is not stocked. More lately they have been moving their stock around making shopping more difficult. As a result I have started shopping elsewhere and only go to Sainsbury's for specific items.

Staff arent helpful in store - nectar printed me a voucher with half the ink and i ask to reprint and they couldnt, so I can’t use it. They didn’t care. Told me to call a number. The number was wrong. Why do i have to waste my time doing that? The pharmacy are useless too. The petrol station charged me for screen wash and it was just water. Don’t bother.

Ignorant staff, low stock levels, not enough tills open- told to join another que having stood there for 15 minutes- she was more concerned about her lunch break…what’s the excuse this time; Brexit (?), Covid (?), supply chain (?)…..or should we just accept this minimum wage approach to service??!

Stocking in this supermarket is terrible.. Here quite often on a Monday morning and it's always the same.. Often find out of date foods on the shelves... Always huge queues at the checkouts as there are never enough staff on them and self checkout are very small...has to be worst Sainsbury's on the area

Busy as usual, the shelves are always fully stocked, staff are friendly and helpful, great location as there are many other shops located in the vicinity.

If you want to get a decongestant from the in store pharmacy take your whole medical history with you unless you're happy to discuss it in the isle with other people listening in. Customer care was great and staff at the hot foods was great.
