Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's @Hoddesdon is very busy at this time of the year, but it is managed extremely well. There is extra stuff on the shop floor and outside, in the parking lot. I was relieved to find, that there was not any sign of panic buying and that the shelves are well stocked. Still, to avoid the usual Christmas crowds, I prefer late afternoon or evening shopping.

Only 2 checkouts open. Queues going down the aisles. No staff around. I refuse to use the self serve because: 1) they hardly ever manage to scan a full shop without issue. 2)I'm not on Sainsbury's payroll. 3) if we stop using the manned checkouts, we put people out of work! This means more profit for the supermarket because you don't see their prices going down whilst paying out less on payroll

We always shop here and will continue to do so however the management should note the following:
1. A lack of the smaller trolleys at times
2. It is annoying for regular customers to find that products have been moved to different areas of the shop for no apparent reason.
3. The amount of litter near the shop is excessive especially in the vicinity of the roundabout on the approach.

Handy supermarket in the heart of Hoddesdon. Big car park.
Usually well stocked and tidy with a variety of groceries, gifts, household items and seasonal products.
Also has SmartShop facilities.

Handy Argos inside. Some eBay orders can be delivered to here.

It is difficult to rate supermarket experiences. In the end it has to come down to service, availability, convenience and price. Probably the most annoying part of the experience is the " self check out". These things seem to know I am coming and build all kinds of obstacles! Scrubbed bar codes, " what?? No bag?? Nightmare!! If I have a couple of items I go to the Service Counter.

T'was the panic before Christmas and all was hell. I dropped my phone at some point in the supermarket and returned in despair an hour later. The kind people of Hoddesdon had handed it in, and the good staff at this Sainsbury's had kept it at customer services. Thank you for saving me from a big Bah! Humbug!. Merry Christmas.

Good superstore, has everything you need. Great that they have Starbucks there now and the clothes are always so lovely!
