Compared to other Tesco super stores, I didn't like this one very much. I was looking for whitley neill pink grapefruit gin, but they didn't have any.

No check out tills after 9pm only self service tills. Take it or leave was basically the message. So I left it.

Good parking, good range of products, alot of the freezers were empty and not working but this appeared to be a temporary issue and products were placed in other freezers.

Club prices excellent, BUT must we have to endure that terribly loud music, can't get out quick enough.

I had a very interesting experience at this supermarket yesterday. This place is the closest hypermarket to my house and I come here every two or three weeks for shopping. Yesterday I came here for my last pre-Christmas restocking, including two bottles of alcohol. I'm middle-aged, with lines around my head, mouth and eyes. But the cashier refused to sell me the alcohol and insisted on a paper ID. The ID picture on my phone didn't work. I came here on foot, without a driver's license, and never dreamed that I would be checked for ID at this age! Some people with bad eyes used to think I was 25, but there is absolutely no way I could be considered under 20. Well, I accepted that I couldn’t get the alcohol this time, and this witch refused to even sell me a trifle, saying it has alcohol in it! I was completely enraged (I buy trifles from this market at every visit and it was the first time I was stopped!) and asked to complain about this employee with the harshest complaint possible. The owner himself explained to me that the employees here are required to be like this and that they have the right to ask anyone they suspect is of age for documentation. I think in my case this is a right that is being abused. One employee can insist that he/she just didn't think the person was above 20, no matter how many wrinkles were on the person's face, while just refusing to sell to a customer in order to show off the only power he/she had in hands and making things difficult. I hope that along with truly protecting children from alcohol, please include common sense restraints so that employees do not abuse their authority. If you walk into this supermarket, do NOT be so confident that you look old enough to buy alcohol, there may be an oversized aunt with glasses and dark hair at the cashier who insists on asking you for a paper ID… Good luck! :-P
