Tesco Extra

After 20 years plus of shopping at Tesco I will be shopping elsewhere. Did my weekly shop at Highwoods in the eve as I work long hours. Went to checkout just after 10pm (still a good crowd shopping in there). No checkouts open at all. Asked a member of staff and was told it was the managers instructions not to have checkouts open after 10pm. Went to self service and had continual problems. Needed staff assistance around 8 times. Finally the self service crashed and was told I had to start again - quite a job with a full trolley. Extraordinary experience. .

Pharmacy is awful, never prompt EVER , need more staff and staff who will actually move faster than a snail , there are two ladies that are great if they are working. so frustrating, yes it gets busy at times like all places but unfortunately when you come the service is exactly the same no matter what time of day, constantly get text to say prescription is ready when you come , always behind, try putting in prescriptions and coming two days later see if that would help no different. Result in inconvenience to trying to find alternative pharmacies that are not local. It’s so frustrating . Do better, find more staff PLEASE!

Self service only in the evening, not a good experience at all apart from the staff member who had to come over so many times due to “assistance required” by machine, that he took over to help me as It was full of problems including not enough space for all my shop, that it was paused by the staff member because you can’t start packing until the end. Top marks to the staff, but an absolute arthritic thumbs down to self service from me. Won’t be back was in two minds to just leave my full trolly and walk out, but did not want the staff to suffer, what is not their fault. It’s just greed from the company to cut staffing costs.

Does not cater for diversity. Tesco highwoods does not stock any fresh halal meat. This is absolutely disgusting considering the multicultural population in colchester, had to go elsewhere to find some, as a big chain you should absolutely do better. Disappointed.

DIRTY STORE.
Worst Supermarket I’ve ever been in.the store is Dirty with leaking roof dropping rusty dirty water on customers and the floor as they shop. This has been the case for many years and never been fixed properly.hardly any tills open for trolleys with cash paying customers.staff say there’s nothing they can do about opening more than two tills and we have to write to head office.I’ll be shopping else where from now on.

The bold headed geezer who looks in his mid 40s who works as the security guard at night time in highwoods tescos don't come across friendly whatsoever. Evertime I say hello to him. He can barely say it back or acknowledge me or says anything. He comes across unfriendly. And It's starting to P.i.s.s. me off abit. All the other security guards all speak and smile, except from him.
