Not a reliable place to shop at the moment. Food prices up but they are everywhere. Not enough staff on checkouts (only one this morning with a number of disgruntled shoppers in the queue). No sanitiser at the entrances for trolley handles. Weighing and pricing machines dirty, not cleaned. Regularly bought items such as stock cubes, washing up liquid (and veg such as fennel and aubergines) not in stock for long periods of time.

First time using the smart app at Sainsbury's once used to it it was a good experience you can just go through the self service tills or the normal tills scan your phone with the items you've bought does it all and then just pay the deals are really good and it's actually items that you buy all the time really pleased, the member of staff was helpful as well as I did have to ask where to go because at first I thought you had to go to a smart till to use the smart app,I know some people have had problems with the app I think it's actually where you are in store as I was by the fridges and it didn't want to play as soon as I moved it was ok, good app.

The last couple of months there are never enough staff on the tills and after 3pm they hardly ever bother to re-stock the the shelves. Drives me to other retailers

Assuming this store actually has a manager then the Regional should start performance managing them. The store is an embarrassment!!! shelves are always empty and the staff either stand talking to each other or move more slowly then my deceased gran. I have shopped here for 10 years but no more! This is not an isolated incident, it has been in this condition for 6 months. Sainsbury’s upper management; take a manager from the Selly Oak branch and stick them here, because this “manager” is taking the @&ss out of you and your customers!

My first visit to sainsburys in Northfield today.. I had no idea how huge it is..
Took a few trips walking up and down the aisle looking for things.. but was a pleasant time of shopping. I should have took advantage of their shopping scooters..mayb next time..

Good selection of products. Prices are reasonable though not as cheap as some supermarkets nearby. I think the Taste The Difference range is a bit of a con as the products are not generally any better than the basic products which cost less, I think they are just another excuse to charge you a bit more. The nectar offers are usually pretty good oftenn get triple points and the offers of bonus points are generally based on products which you buy regularly so there's value to be had. Overall quite good and convenient. Only real criticism is that there are never enough cashiers to cope with the number of people waiting to pay so you are often queueing for longer than necessary.
