Popped in on a flying visit to a client in Bermuda Way, was in a hurry. Selected 5 items in quick succession and then made my way to the till. Man behind the counter punched the numbers into the tell at lightening speed and told me the total was £7.45.

Without adding everything up it seemed to me to be a bit more than it should so I questioned the price of an item to see if he had charged me correctly. The value charged was £1 when the label showed 0.90p so I challenged him and he told me that was the old price. New price is £1.

I accepted this discrepancy and handed over a £10 with something still not ringing true in my head so I asked for a receipt. As I walked to the door I checked it and it had many more lines than the number of products I bought and seemed to have at least 1 subtotal that was exactly inline and the same appearance as a line item.

When I challenged him to explain the receipt he said it was all correct and that the extra lines were just running totals of the items I had bought. When he realised that this was not making it clear for me he reluctantly offered to add it up again. This time the total came to a more accurate £5.65 (the correct price).

Now I don't want to jump to any conclusions but judging by the way in which he handled the whole transaction, I couldn't help feeling like I was being ripped off. He may have genuinely made a mistake though speed and carelessness but my gut feeling is that this is not the first time he has made this type of error and I doubt that the total would every be lower than it should be!

Check your change - and your totals.

Incredibly well stocked smallish local corner store including a mind boggling range - in type and price - of alcoholic beverages. Charming man at the cash till. Though Costcutters don't have many special offers compared to big supermarkets, this branch has such a varied stock that I often pop in to check it out.

Greetings fellow consumers!

I only saw the shop from the outside, I did not dwelve inside, looked quiet and seemed to have the type of items you would need and want on a daily basis.

There are so many factors to determine the level of stars for a store.

2 star due to not going inside.

Wanted to pay by card, but the guy said they only accept cash. Luckily I had cash on me, but I won't be going back to this store. You can't run a shop in London without accepting card.
