Water Babies Nottingham & Derby

We absolutely adore our Water Babies lessons. I swim with all three of my children who have developed a love of the water and so much confidence.

By far the best activity you can do with a baby. Both my children are Water Babies and I am extremely proud of them.

I have swam with Water Babies since my daughter was 7 weeks old. She is now 2 and half. Wow where do I start. Once i found out about Water Babies I always knew this was going to be a must to do with our baby and im so glad we did. Her confidence and development in and out the water is 110% it is amazing to watch them progress and even better when you get reactions from members of the public when taking them swimming outside of lessons. They are always shocked about her ability and this is thanks to the amazing teachers. We have swam with Michelle at Portland College from the start and I can say that Michelle very quickly knew each individual childs needs and stenghts in the pool and emotional and also as new parents her affection towards us was lovely too when a bit apprehensive about certain techinquies she would always reasure and makes the sitation feel so natural and normal.
Myself and my daughter have serval chapters yet til we finish for big girl lessons but we never want it to end.

It is amazing gift you can give your child from birth and somthing to look forward to each week especially when in those early stages of parenthood. Your child and you make friends for life.

Brilliant, family run business, always super helpful, providing an excellent swim school for the under 5s

We have been a Water Babies family since our little girl was a tiny thing in 2015, with her baby brother joining in the fun a couple of years later.

We couldn't have had two children with more different approaches to swimming. For our daughter, our biggest challenge was convincing her to come up for air as she lived her best mermaid life in the pool. Her confidence blossomed in the water and she left in 2020 with a fantastic secure foundation of swimming skills, and a love for being in the pool.

Our little boy took a more cautious approach - our shared battle with the 'water wobbles' lasted well over 3 years. He had fun in his own quiet way, and he (and we!) benefitted from reassurances and kind support to adjust activities so he could join in in his own style. Despite his long term nervousness in the pool, he always looked forward to his lessons. In his final few weeks, he has suddenly started to do everything, taking everyone by surprise and resulting in happy tears all round!

I thought I would share this tale of two water babies because it speaks to the wonderful way in which Water Babies teachers (most especially Marie C in this case, who we think is absolutely fabulous) are able to meet the diverse needs of our precious little people and adapt the journey to their pace - whether that's cheering them on as they nail their first 10m swim or just making sure they know they're safe and don't have to do anything they don't want to (for a really, really long time in our case!).

Very long story short, Water Babies has been fantastic. We couldn't recommend it more highly, and we are going to miss it enormously.
