A remarkable remnant of East London's Jewish history, the East London Central Synagogue is one of the four remaining places of worship in the East End, when as recently as fifty years ago there were upwards of 200.

Lots of other synagogues consolidated with this one, so on your visit you'll discover commemorative plaques from long-forgotten places. The synagogue's collection of torah scrolls includes many from the 19th century, some from as far afield as Russia and Eastern Europe
