Dong Shan

I use to love this place for a while. But since it gave me food poisoning and felt like I was gonna die!! (not literally) never ever again. I spent 3 days in hospital having loads of meds loads of scans, test etc did to me... Never again. People think twice. .. Am sticking to a indain from now on.

Just round the corner and an excellent Chinese. Food is always good and reasonably priced. Great selection too and always friendly staff.

decided to try dong shan instead of my regular chinese.

ordered onlne on their website and the website took my details and said the payment was confirmed but when it was delivered it was agreed between me and delivery driver that it was payed for. Dong Shan then sent the delivery driver back to me to collect payment in cash. due to payment not going through. i will wait to see if payment is taken from my card.

the good points about this takeaway is the food came realy fast its got fairly competative prices and the delivery driver who delivered my food was friendly.

bad points is that management seems to bad the website is either what they use to scam their customers into paying double or just doesnt work.
and the food is alright but the special chowmein is bland and quite dry.

Food was pretty good and staff were friendly but our chicken balls were actually prawn balls. We ordered online so I know we ordered the right thing.

They were also pretty good but if you have a shellfish allergy make sure you double check before tucking in!

If I could of I would not of rated at all this Chinese my son currently has food poisoning , and myself and his dad don't feel too good either .The chicken did not smell taste or look right it was pink and smelt awful . I have leftovers in the fridge and I will be getting in touch with the food standards . This was the worst Chinese we have ever had .

We usually order from here so thought we would tonight for a Saturday night treat. Placed an order at 5:30pm costing £52 and were told it would be an hour so we waited and waited. After an hour and a bit of waiting we decided to call them as it was late but got no answer. 58 calls we made to them with no answer. 3 hours later at 8:30 the food arrived but we didn’t take it as at this point we had already walked to the kebab shop to get food. Absolute disgrace, not only have they lost £52 tonight they have also lost regular customers. Wouldn’t recommend

Hands down the best Chinese in my area of Chesterfield. Their dishes are consistently good quality and feel clean, not greasy. Always great customer service too and they deliver on time, if not a bit earlier sometimes. The only downside I can think of is that they take cash only, but that doesn't bother me as its worth going to the cash point to get tasty food! Lemon chicken, chicken balls, sesame toast, spring rolls, Singapore chow mein and duck dishes I would highly recommend.

We’ve been having food from here for over three years it’s always consistently good and comes piping hot ! We’ve tried others but they don’t compare !
