The Station Hotel

Stayed here for three nights, would have checked out immediately if I could have gotten my money back. According to the website the rooms are recently renovated. That is only true if you see a fresh coat of paint, and new artwork on the walls a renovation. There were holes in the walls, the lighting fixtures didn't work, and the window was a struggle to open, but very necessary as there was no air flow and it felt like a sauna in the room. The bed was not only like sleeping on a slab of concrete, it was bowed so that both of us fought rolling off our side all night. The so-called restaurant downstairs was open the day we arrived, but never again. There was no breakfast despite being offered on the website for a fee, and only drinks were being served when we tried to eat dinner there. Renovations were being done on the fascia, but it needs to extend indoors. The only bright spot were the staff who were very polite and friendly.

Just wanted a coffee after a long train journey, they had a massive chalkboard on an easel to advertise their selection of hot drinks only to be told by a somewhat rude member of staff that they had no hot drinks....why not just remove the chalkboard?! Also, toilets were really disgusting...yuck!

Visited from Derby as away football fans. Polite and hard working staff who coped amazingly well under pressure when the pub was extremely busy.
Reasonable prices and superb location, a 5 minute walk away from Portman road, they even put on a BBQ.

Went in so friendly but I really wanted a bowl of chips when my husband come back from the bar he said they £4.99 & when they come out must of been 8 so will definitely not be ordering again. But good pub with nice people.

Room in a poor state of repair, tiny TV, uncomfortable beds, a maid tried my door why I was sleeping and then kept banging on it when I shouted that there was someone in there, (when I got out of bed and answered the door she asked if I wanted anything cleaned). The bar lady was very aloof, rude and unfriendly. The toilet had a bolt lock that once slid shut would not open no matter how much force I applied with my finger and thumb and I almost got trapped in there twice, luckily I had my phone in a leather wallet which I used to tug it open 😅

I went to the station Hotel for a couple pints today and the bar staff was unbelievable they were absolutely amazing in fact I stayed 5 hours more than I should have done,highly recommend 👌

What an absolute gem this place is! I arrived as the tired traveller and was looked after by lovely staff, good food and friendly atmosphere. I recharged while waiting for a train and the next leg of my journey. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great place to hold a football meeting and it was the only pub open on a Monday night.
We will be back with the rest of the clubs management next time :-)
