I agree with a lot of these negative reviews. The problem is just the inconsistency. I will agree that they have great rates. And that have improved substantially in the last year (with the new text message service, etc).

However, you can never tell if they are going to be 10minutes early or 20minutes later. Further, if they show up early...they have a tendency of charging you even though they are the ones who are early. If I book a cab for 6pm, I don't want to be charged because you showed up at 5:40pm.

Also we have had quite a few occasions where the cab driver has been rude or belligerent. Its not the worst company ever but you definitely get what you pay for. I'd rather overpay for Addison Lee and know that I will get the quality service.

I have never written a google review, but felt that I had to warn others. DO NOT USE them especially in the late evenings or during busy times. The phone operators seem to have huge attitude problems. They will find excuses to increase the price even when you have the actual quote from the app. When you try to justify yourself the driver turns aggressive, no one will help you when you call the head office! There is no customer service what so ever! It is such a shame I used them so often in the past. I do not know what has happened with the management in the past few months. After a few too many bad experiences with them in a row, I have to say I cannot use them again. Chalk Farm Taxi is also part of the same company. Try use the Kabee app and find another car company to use, because by using them you are just encouraging the rude behaviours!

The times i have used Swiss cottage cars they have sent my car on time and drivers were polite. and helpful.The prices are very good and they seem to cover a larger part of the city and give delays that are realistic not like other companies, they say something but never meet that delay time and you end up waiting hours for the car. I don't normally take time to write reviews but the quality of service has improved immensely in Swiss cottage cars- Give them a try..

We booked a cab for a friend who spoke little English. The driver not only arrived at the location to pick him up about an hour late, but to add insult to injury, they were then demanding him to pay a significant amount more than what the price was quoted on the phone. I then phoned their office to explain this to them and they were incredibly rude and aggressive and kept on hanging up on us. Eventually after calling back, I refused to pay that price and told them I would pay what was agreed on the phone earlier. They then became very aggressive and kept on repeatedly saying 'ok then we will call the police and send them to your house to arrest you and you can discuss it with them at the police station', they then hung up on me after saying that without letting me speak. Since we were feeling very threatened and intimidated at this point, our friend paid whatever the driver asked for.

We then tried numerous times after to contact them to complain and resolve this issue to try to get a refund for the overcharge, we were very polite and civil, but they were again nothing but rude with us and eventually stopped responding to us. It is clear to us that they have no intention to refund us any money, and unfortunately for us, it is not worth pursuing this via legal means, so we will be left out of pocket. We feel as though we have been scammed and also bullied. Based on our experience, I therefore do not recommend using this company at all. One other thing to mention is that this company trades under many different other names which are not shown on their website, so I strongly recommend anyone to research and hire a company with a good reputation to book a cab from and if anyone has concerns, I also recommend to contact the Public carriage office.

I had been asked to make an experience of this private hire car company by a friend as they had taken a journey which ended up being a horrific experience. When I arranged for a car to take me on a local journey, the vehicle never arrived on time when it had been pre-booked 24 hours earlier. The driver was not the most pleasant person to greet me and was frustrated by the amount of low value jobs he had been doing. This may be the norm for this industry professional, but for someone just wanting to get from A to B, doesn’t need to know this and only needs to be treated with a little courteousness. Took further journeys to see if it was a one off, after taking 10 different local journeys, all the drivers had displayed this grumpy personality.

Quite possibly the worst cab company I have ever used in London. They were incredibly rude and the driver didn't even show up! I called the switchboard 8 times and each time was told that I would get in touch with the driver within a minute, which never happened. After 45 minutes, waiting with a client of mine- they cancelled the trip and blamed it on another app. They were unapologetic, rude and dismissive.

Has it's flaws but they are always priced significantly lower than competition. Great value for money overall, drivers are mostly punctual and you can be sure they will charge you only what was committed, regardless of traffic and road closures.

Used them 4 times now and I think they provide good value most of the time. Would use them again......

This company falsely promises to pick you up and only fulfils the job if it suits them.

The driver failed to check the flight information given, failed to pick up and completely refused to help when we needed to get home with a young baby. They had a driver in the airport vicinity who was less than ten minutes away, but for their own convenience decided they would send another driver 45 minutes away instead.

It is hugely disappointing after 25 years of loyal custom. The selfishness and self-entitlement of this company is not to be believed. They would much sooner blame the customer, make false promises and only send cars when it is convenient to fulfil a promised job.

We had always ignored the dismal ratings other reviewers have given as loyal customers. Now we learn our lesson and hope nobody repeats the same mistake.
