Chiddingfold Taxis & Airport Transfers

Great service. Have always been on time and super friendly. Will be my regular taxi company from now on

Only minor whiplash and a damaged shoe on arrival. For a journey that finally (with much dispute) fairly priced at 15 for a 6 mile journey....

Originally 25 pounds were sought for the same journey. When I proceeded to call dispatch to check and confirm the price. Which admittedly, I should have done on booking, the driver proceeded to drive off from the destination with me!

This was suspiciously timed, having called him out on the price. Which made me concerned about his motives, in driving me away from the destination.

I was so scared I opened the car door at this point to make him stop.

He did not so I left the car by force having my foot driven over

He proceeded to accuse me of not paying, however I only left once he drove away from the agreed destination, while negotiating payment.

He clearly knew he was overcharging me and at best was concerned about his next job. I dread to think what the worst option was. It fills me with dread and fear, other potential options on his agenda.

Dispatch listened to the whole incident and did nothing to protect me or make me feel safe. I agreed to pay 15 pounds and ran with my things ( I had to leave the car without my suitcase and boots that I had carried with me) because he was driving me away from the agreed site.

Listening to my own recordings of the conversation I can see that the driver seems to have been looking for a higher fair.

Looking at the reviews, now (which for taxi companies I tend to disregard since they are always low) I see that there's a concern over fair pricing from customers dealing with this company. In addition to this, there is a lack of duty of care for vulnerable passengers with a protocol that is borderline abduction if you question the price. If that was even the truth...

Be ware of this business. They were the only free taxi company in Chiddingford clearly so, for a reason.

I booked a taxi from Ramster hall at a Pacific time and the driver was on time very friendly would use and recommend to all my friends who need a cab!

In and around Chiddingfold/Ifold there are very few taxi companies. I for one am pleased to use Chiddingfold Taxis and Airport tranfers. They are reliable, professional and courteous. Quite genuinely the poor reviews listed seem unrecognisable to the company i enjoy dealing with.

A friend booked a taxi with them from Chiddingfold where the taxi firm is based to Ramster Hall on Friday. He had to pay upfront and we were charged £40 for an over all journey there and back of 3miles. As they insisted it was prepaid it seemed hard to change so accepted it but was a bit surprised that the pick up time was 10.45pm when the event ended 11.45pm. On the event he rang to change the pick up to 11.45pm. He's was told it was another £10 surcharge. He argued that we were already paying a large sum for a short trip and after the call thought the addition charge had been dropped. The same polite taxi driver picked us up to return. Then when arrived said there was the £10 fee. So left with a strong impression of the firm being money grabbing and over charging. I would definitely not use again until I'd exhausted every other possibility.

Unfortunately not a good experience. Pre booked journey was very expensive (admittedly it was our group's choice to agree the high fare) and then unjustifiably charged an extra £10 supplement for changing the return time (despite having already negotiated that this would be waived). In short, the fare worked out as circa £12+ per mile travelled. The one positive was that driver was overall friendly.
