Hawk Express Cabs

Booked and paid upfront for collection from a friends wedding. After they were 15 minutes late tried to call and after 5 minutes of ringing they finally answered, said it was 15 minutes away. Nothing turned up so called again and they then said they had no driver allocated and wouldn’t be able to send anyone leaving us stranded. Absolutely terrible service. How they can take bookings and money upfront and then not turn up leaving you stranded is shocking. Will never use again and suggest no one else does either or you may end up in the same situation when they can’t be bothered to pick you up.

Used Hawk Express cabs previously and they were very good, value for money and punctual. However today and yesterday the service was poor with extremely long waiting times and bookings cancelled on the app after after confirmation. It's a shame as they are usually a very good service provider.

The driver was kind and courteous and helped me get my things in and out of the cab. I love using the app as it keeps me informed of where my driver is at and it allows me to pre book my cab for the next day. When I do call, the staff are so friendly over the phone, they are almost like family.

I've used Hawk a few times, they use an online payment system which works well and they seem very well set up. Taxi arrived on time, prepaid and nothing to worry about. Good driver and clean car, no problems and I am happy to recommend them.

When i the ordered the taxi I was told it’d be a 5 min wait, half an hour later the driver arrives at the wrong place even though I specified exactly where (it wasn’t difficult) I’ve had to ask him to go the quicker way, because now I am late to my appointment, even though it’s quicker but because its technically longer I’ve been charger £20 for an 8 minute journey. NOT impressed!!

Only reason it is a 4 out of 5 stars is due to the approach one of the phone operators has when booking a taxi (called on the 7th Nov).

I always make sure to book one day a head if I know I am in need of a taxi, but the woman I spoke with on the phone kept cutting me off and hung up before I finished speaking. It might have been a busy night and she might have had a bad day, but it does come across as quite rude.

Can not fault the lady I spoke with 2 days ago, she was so lovely even when I couldn't book a taxi with Hawk express cabs (all booked up) and whenever I do get in the taxi, the drivers are always so friendly and get me there with plenty of time to spare.

No wonder Hawk express is used the most around Ipswich as they do care about the customer, but the initial contact is probably the most important part as it sets the bar for how you feel you are going to be treated.

Watched a Hawk Express vehicle (white estate with a large number 5 showing above the rear plate, and with a male driver) pass the line of traffic in the inside lane of the A14 east-bound, on Saturday morning, 26 November, as those drivers adhered to the temporary 50mph speed limit. Would suggest seeing a licensed vehicle doing an estimated 60mph-plus in a 50mph limit, which has obviously been imposed for safety reasons, is not a great advertisement for the company, nor does it demonstrate responsible driving from a supposed professional.

Blocked the pavement and crossing near Wells Hall School in Great Cornard so I had to take my kids and pram into the road while the driver was parked about 5 metres away from an available parking space. I get taxi drivers need to park somewhere, but parking up across a zebra crossing and the pavement is a little frustrating. Sorry I couldn’t see the driver nearby to tell them in person.
