Cuckfield Pantry ,Tea Room & Diner

Good value, unpretentious food served in a comfortable, traditionally decorated room.

We found the service friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. Despite suggestions to the contrary from other "reviewers", everything was impeccably clean.

In summary, my son and I had a lovely meal and will surely return when we find ourselves back in Cuckfield.

The interior is pleasant and the food was well prepared and tasty. My reservations were that they seemed to struggle to cope with a fairly small turnover of customers and they were obviously stressed. I thought it was also overpriced for the portion size.

What a lovely place, we were so well looked after. The food was wonderful and freshly made. Look forward to trying the cream tea next time!

I had sausage sandwich. The food quality was poor for the price point. Service was ok but quality issues are not worth mentioning to the staff as they either know or can't tell the difference, I just won't go back again.

I have never posted a review before but the manner we were spoken to was so terse and rude I was quite taken aback. Enquiry of cake selection was met with abruptness, when asked to repeat as cakes were kept in a upright display, we were again met with a rattling off of flavours and patronising attitude. We attempted to order coffee at a table, to be met with the same rudeness of a description of skimmed plain dairy milk. Then told we needed to order a meal not just coffee and cake, so we couldn’t be served. What can I say, but amazing rudeness and bad customer service. We crossed the road to another cafe, Toms Food in Cuckfield to be met with friendly helpful service. Enough said.

Ps your reply in dealing with a complaint says it all. I see you have quite a few unhappy reviews both on here and trip advisor and your comments are always with the same rude tone.

Lovely cream tea with a large pot of tea, enough for 3 cups! Very friendly service.
