Stopped to have lunch at Pen-y-Bryn and was greeted by a miserable young dark haired girl, took both our orders and we asked for sandwiches on white bread.
Brought both out on brown granary bread and when I told her I asked for white she stomped off to change it.
Came back less than a minute after to say they have no white bread, why did she not mention that when taking our order plus she gave us the choice to begin with.
Was the worse customer service I’ve experienced in a long while and she definitely needs to be sacked because that sort of service and attitude is not except-able.
Shame we stopped here because there were lots of other lovely places we could of had lunch and would have received far better customer service I’m sure..

Tourist trap, beware! We had the full Welsh breakfast plus pastry basket at £18pp. Pastries were beautiful but the breakfast was small (one sausage, one rasher of bacon, raw tomatoes and thinly sliced black pudding) and definitely not worth the money. We weren't asked if we wanted white or brown bread, and were just given wholemeal - one of our party can't eat that so we asked for white to replace it and the dark-haired girl (see other reviews it turns out!) stomped off and was incredibly rude about having to sort that. The other members of the team were lovely, hence two stars otherwise it would be one star. I'd not return.

We ordered an afternoon tea when the place seemed fairly quiet. The tea came straight away but the afternoon tea appeared 50 minutes later when we had to ask for more tea as we had already drunk the tea that should have come with the food. Place lacked staff although the food was generally fine. Wouldn't rush back.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime at the end of October, when we were ready for a cuppa after walking the town walls.
The tea rooms were fairly quiet and we were served quickly. I had roasted red pepper soup and a tuna melt sandwich and my wife had the Welsh rarebit and we shared a pot of tea.
The food arrived after a short wait. The soup could have been seasoned a lttle more. But otherwise fine. My wife enjoyed her rarebit which came with a side salad. The food was reasonaby priced. Lacking a little in atmosphere, the small rooms don't help.
Noticed that they were very dog friendly, with canine visitors receiving treats and a blanket to lie on.

Have been here a number of times, often after hiking/running conwy mountain area, and sometimes just before closing. We've always been accommodated. Food is hearty - very nice jackets, soups, and sandwiches. Today's broccoli & spinach soup was just delicious. Well be back for more!!!!

We arrived after 3pm on a Sunday having been turned away from other cafes as they were closing. We received a friendly greeting and polite and efficient service . I enjoyed the Welsh Rarebit with additional mushrooms and my friend enjoyed the full Welsh breakfast. A pleasant experience and reasonably priced .

Popped into the tea rooms as we wanted to sit indoors with our dog and noticed the 'Dog Friendly' sign outside.
We only had a coffee & it was quite quiet - but we were made very welcome.
Bella our collie cross was immediately presented with a nice rug to lie on and after our coffees came (didn't wait long) Bella received a cooked sausage for free!!
No complaints from dog or humans. Well worth a visit with your pooch.

I would rate this a lot lower if it wasn’t for the young lad who was doing his absolute best serving customers, whilst also cooking the food as it looked like he’d been left in the lurch massively! The food he cooked up was bang on and even though we didn’t get the full advertised breakfast we was told what he had run out of and this was then reflected in the discounted bill at the end. The food was bang on so can really argue on the quality front considering he was doing it all on his own!

As a business however seeing a young lad running around like that isn’t nice to see and this is where mistakes will be made which will impact your reviews and reputation. You have to also consider the poor lad and how flustered he must have been

These 3 stars are for you mate you deserve to be treated better

I would go again and for the price over quality you get a good deal. Plus the service was bang on
