Lovely tea rooms with excellent food and great service. The problem for me is that they are cash only payments. Even though there is a cash point a few yards away, that is not the point. For example, if I want to buy something for£3:99, I would have to draw out £10 in order to pay for it leaving me with a cash surplus I don't need. Most cash points only issue a minimum of £10. Gone are the days of expensive card machines for businesses, with high monthly fees and large percentages taken from sales, with many being able to be bought for about £30 and no contract, the charges only being as little as about 2% each sale. This tea room needs to bring itself into the 23rd century as far as payments are concerned. It already does fantastic trade and may not feel the need to change, but it could do so much more if it offered card payments.

Great little tea room, staff are very friendly, clean and well presented, good selection of food, there is a toilet with hand basin clean with toilet paper, the cafe is situated on the corner of a very busy road with limited parking space, otherwise it's a must visit.
you would not get a wheelchair in as it is only a small room.

The ultimate breakfast was fantastic, it was made fresh and everything was hot.
Very rare to actually get hot food these days but this was nice and hot, still hot as I finished my food.
Another nice thing was a pot of tea and they just kept filling the tea pot for you, awesome.
There was 2 x bacon, eggs, sausage, there were loads of mushrooms, a black pudding, beans, think it was two or three hash browns and four pieces of toast.
All this for under a tenner, great.
Had to walk four miles after this to get back to my daughters house, took me a fair bit longer going back but what a great breakfast.

A real gem of a place selling delicious, homemade food and cakes, pastries, etc. at such reasonable prices. Always a warm and friendly welcome, our stop off place when travelling through. Fabulous!

We have frequented and really enjoyed the Tearoom over the past two years. Unfortunately they have a new cook and waitstaff with very disappointing results. My scrambled eggs were bland and rubbery, bacon was very over-cooked and greasy and the toast was verging on burnt.
My Partner’s sausages were also blackened and tough.
The cafe has definitely gone downhill and sadly we will not be returning any time soon.

Called in on Wednesday for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Excellent full English and very quick and friendly service .
Cafe was very clean and warm. Lovely friendly atmosphere in there.
Great selection of cakes on show but had no room left after the amazing breakfast. Hopefully next time.
Thanks to the staff for great service.

Just visited The Old Swan Tearooms whilst in the area on our Honeymoon. Lovely food, the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. There was a nice community feel to the place! Thoroughly recommend.

A wonderful place! We stopped here just after the kitchen closed, but because I'm vegan they opened it up just for me and made this delicious beans on toast! My non-vegan friend had a tuna sandwich that was very tasty as well.
