David, the owner has the most incredible knowledge of all things tea. I'm not a tea drinker but have friends who are and they love to receive presents from my trips in to Monteas. The shop is clean and bright and smells incredible with all the loose leaf tea available for you to smell before making a purchase.

Awesome shop, David is so knowledgeable and his teas are amazing, I won't be going back to peppermint tea bags any time soon. The Assam Bukhial is also delicious, highly reconmend a visit to either the shop or the website.

This shop should have a warning on the front door "you might walk in with nought, but you won't walk out with ought"
I popped in with my husband to just have a look at teapots. Until David appeared.... then that was that.... teapot, two different types of tea - an hilarious conversation and slightly more knowledgeable on teas...I say slightly, as I would still be there learning. As an ex retailer - David's customer service was fantastic, even my husband commented that he is a type of bloke that you could go for a pint with and laugh all night. I will definitely be going back, even though we are not local.

A treasure trove of a tea shop run by a very affable, and informed man. If you love tea, this is the shop to head too.

Excellent teas and service, David is very helpful with a vast knowledge of all things tea - my choice Nilgiri Thiashola. MonTeas, highly recommended.

Rude owner and disgraceful service during our recent visit to this establishment. We were greeted by an unfriendly-looking rope blocking the entrance and waited in some confusion until the owner appeared. His manner was pompous and hostile which, as two women, really shock us up. He pointed at my friend and said: "YOU can come into the shop because you're wearing a mask." He then turned to me and said: "But YOU can't. You will have to wait here." I have a disability and was wearing my exemption lanyard which I showed him but he snarled 'no exceptions' at me. The whole experience made us feel horrible and discriminated against. I'm not even sure his actions were legal but rest assured we went and spent our hard-earned cash in other shops in Monmouth whose owners were absolutely delightful and made us feel very welcome. What a blight on the community this man's attitude is. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

A fantastic range of teas, and an amazing amount of knowledge. The owner is always full exceptionally good advice, goes out of his way to help anyone, whether they be a customer or a visitor to Monmouth. Probably one of the friendliest people you can meet and sums up all that is positive about Monmouth town. 😀

Since going caffeine free I’ve been missing black tea. Monteas’ range roobis/red bush tea is amazing. I had no idea it had so much depth and flavour. Now I don’t miss black tea anymore. Thank you!!
