Oxfam Bookshop

I love books. I love book shops. I go out of my way to support charity shops. However, the pricing here has got a little out of hand. I looked initially at a cookery book that I fancied. Nice, 2nd hand book..some signs of useage (hard to cook and stay clean!)..then the price £7.99!!!! Waterstones were selling it new for £8.99..Amazon for £2.81. I know Oxfam is a charity but to be honest I'm not very well off myself. I would love to get a bargain and help out at the same time. Looking round the rest of the shop it was hard to get even an old paperback for less than £3.00. I watched several people pick up a book, check a price and leave without buying. Leamington has many charity shops and the rest seem to be doing fairly well with appropriate pricing (paperbacks around the 50p to £1 mark and hardbacks around £2 - £2.50 ), I'm not sure whether Oxfam is pricing itself out of the market? I guess time and unmoveable stock will tell.

Use to be great, nice staff but noticed In the past few years that the prices on stuff has gotten a bit much especially for a charity shop as found a few cds and dvds cheaper brand new!...

Excellent well run shop with lots great books and records. My favourite bookshop in Leamington!
Note: I might be slightly biased, as I used to volunteer there, although I know the inside and out - and still love it!

Great selection of books, records, jigsaws, stamps and ephemera. Good range of greetings cards, wrapping paper and gifts. I usually find something of interest to buy and I am happy that my money is going to a good cause.
