One of my usual stops while in town. Lots of good books and nice clothes.

Used to have a bargain shop upstairs (possibly for clearing overstock), which I kinda miss. Good selection of clothes, primarily, but also have books and DVDs, as you would expect from a charity shop.

Small charity shop with the usual stuff, new and used on offer. Unfortunately this branch has quite a nasty, judgemental woman working there. She gives the impression she's the manager, but I don't know if she is. In her 60's but often dresses like she's in her 20's. She has basically marked me as a thief. I go in there, and get a blank look from her, whereas I get a friendly hello from other staff, and then she does the "pretend to straighten the clothes on the rails but really i'm watching you" routine as she moves around the shop after me. As if I don't know what she's doing. Recently she was on the till while I was there, so she went out the back and immediately came back with another staff member to watch me, who proceeded with the same "pretend to do the rails..." routine. I find it deeply offensive that this woman has decided, for reasons only she knows, that I'm up to no good. Thinking me a thief is bad enough, but one who would rob charity too. A nasty woman spoiling a nice shop. The charity itself though is a very worthwhile cause. My tip is to visit the Sidcup branch, very similar to this one in size but lovely friendly staff there.

Went in today, go at least once a week, usually nice staff. Lady on till was lovely. 2 women was out the back, I picked up a hungry hippo game and took it to the counter I said can I check this as had stuff out of there and had to bring stuff back as missing items.. she said yes, I counted them in front of her ther was 18, it was up for 2.50 I said would they reduce it as it’s not complete and will have to try and buy some, she went out the back and said she do it for £1.50 I said can’t she put it down to a pound as not complete the woman refused, she was on the shop floor old woman with grey hair and glasses, she was with another woman working there with a mask on she annoyed me as she siad my old dog who’s 17 and just had cancer sad he looks so sad and unhappy !!! Really !! I put that last straight.. I was not impressed as she said no it’s £1.50 as when I checked it all the ball was there, I said well they ain’t, her reply said well it’s £1.50 as it was complete when she put it out, I told her not to bother and walked out, she was looking down her nose at me and it’s seemed me and my husband siad she was accusing me of taking them out the box, Check ur cctv then rude old woman. we have spent lots of money in there in future I be staying and sticking to Demelza as the staff are lovely and would never accuse anyone like that absolutely disgusted as a volunteer who she thinks she is…. Not acceptable but writing in a complaint about her to main office ! Girl on the till was lovely and the young boy and the younger manager very helpful was not happy at all she moreless accused me of taking them, terrible attitude and should not be selling items given to u incomplete ! Oh and also I bought a monopoly game , incomplete 😡 rude woman she shouldn’t be working in there and it’s isn’t the first bad review about the old women with grey hair !!!! What because I have tattoos ???? Very annoyed. Who the hell does she think she is.

Sadly, has gone massively downhill over the years. The managers are rude, the lady in charge on Sunday is very rude and aggressive, and some of the staff are rude. Even when I brought in some donations, I got shouted at.
Prices are way higher now, I've seen some items of clothing in there more expensive than buying it brand new. It's a shame to see how it has become.
Two members of staff in there, a French woman and a young man, are both lovely, extremely pleasant and always helpful. So there is some saving grace.
