Good charity shop with a mix of furniture, books, music, clothing (more ladies than blokes) and some electricals. Usual array of interesting bric-a-brac. Sensible pricing to help shift stock. Staff are friendly.

Sadly gone downhill. Firstly the shop completely changed - with a new manager. It also had a makeover. So far so good. But the prices are high now, the eclectic mix isn't there and the shop manager seems to be on the phone all the time. The friendly and cheery welcome - the suggestions and good time chatting with staff are all gone. Emmaus - you may have ''hipsterised' the shop but you threw out what was good about it too. I bet you're not taking more now, even after changing the shop. After visiting three times and not even getting a greeting (I was told about stuff I didn't ask for, which is annoying when you are browsing) - I won't be back. Sad because I spent a lot there but it's your loss!

Like the previous person said, this used to be a great eclectic shop with great bargains - the perfect place to hunt for treasures. Now that it’s been ‘updated’ all that has gone out of the window. The prices are now ridiculous- high street stuff more expensive than the same thing brand new on a few occasions! Also last time I went the cashier took 10 mins to put my sale of two books through - got the price wrong to me, then put the price in wrong to the till, then gave me the wrong change.

Such a shame as it was great. James is sorely missed - such a lovely community spirited man, always had a smile and greeted you without overwhelming you.
