I came here to drop off a load of my father's old Engineering books after he passed away last year, hopeful that they could be repurposed and reused and that some money would go to a good cause in the process.

I was spoken to with a complete lack of respect as the books were deemed to be in 'too bad condition'. To put it into perspective, most of the books had been printed in the 1950's but some of them dates as far back as the 1920's and 30's. Anyway, the lady behind the counter said disgustingly that they were going to be thrown in the bin.

I have been donating to Cancer research monthly since 2013. The first thing I am going to do tomorrow is call them and stop this and instead donate that money to a more appreciative cause.

There are plenty of other charity shops on Holyhead and on Anglesey, I suggest you go elsewhere.

Unappreciative staff, no empathy or adequate communication. To all the other people who gave negative reviews I totally understand your feelings I experienced the same. Take your donations elsewhere, they have no understanding of value.

Came here to drop off donations and was spoken to like dirt!

I understand that charity shops take different things and don't have the facilities to throw unwanted items away but the lady who dealt with us was so rude. She rolled her eyes at our donations and explained that half of them aren't any good for her as the store no longer sells certain things. I said okay no problem we will take away what isn't suitable in the box we brought in if she wants to pick out what she would like. She said this was more work for her and that we should of read online what we could bring (I did just that when I got home and the website stated that they took everything she rejected) she opened a bag and began to throw our items into them without care probably breaking the delicate things.

She spoke aggressively and was very short when I was asking questions she was whispering things under her breath to her colleagues about our donations and how we were being a pain. It felt like everything was a problem and she didn't have time to deal with us - she shouldn't be working in retail if she's like this with people.

We were going to spend time and spend money in the store as my friend was after furniture and we left immediately as she really upset us all. I won't be returning here again or thinking of donating my items to cancer research.
I didn't stop to ask if she was a volunteer or a paid member of staff but whatever her role in the store she should not of spoken to us like this.

Having previously donated and spent money in the store we chose to do same today, as its always been a pleasure to visit and would have given 5 stars for those visits. Having checked online first to check opening times and if donations being accepted we chose to drop off items. Myself and my daughter) i dont drive so had to wait for her to take me) took 8 bags, not huge. We were very rudely told by the man that only 4 bags were allowed per person (NOT STATED ON WEBSITE). We said we were 2 households so allowed 4 each anyway to be again rudely told we had come together so it counted at 4 total. Couple of bags had even been packed separately just because of the fragility of the contents. We had travelled 40 mins to drop the items off. He refused to accept the other 4 small bags saying it wasnt fair on other donors. Do not see the logic of refusing donations, its a very big store too, one of the biggest in UK. In future will take our charity donations elsewhere and advise others to do the same. No excuse for rudeness!!!
