Halfords Autocentre Guildford (Formerly National)

The team were professional, friendly and efficient! I dropped my car off this morning for its MOT and they said it would be ready after an hour. I returned within the hour and it was all complete. They mentioned that the headlight was too low but Damien kindly adjusted this free of charge for me. One very happy customer!

Absolutely brilliant service from the team - they kept me so well informed of everything, they were kind and cheery from start to finish and were happy to explain things to me. My car had a dodgy tyre - which I knew might be an issue - they informed me of what I needed and said they were happy to quote on a tyre for me but said that I could of course go elsewhere if I wanted to check prices - they weren't forceful that I should use thier services (which was so refreshing) - so of course I used them to sort it all out for me. I've had awful experiences with other places in the past and it was so refreshing to walk out of an autocentre feeling happy with the service and knowing my car is sorted. I will absolutely be back. Great team, fantastic service and communication from Matt and the team. My tire was sorted in great time and when finding out I needed another they ordered it in and got me booked asap. Even when it seemed busy with phones ringing and customers coming in they handled it smoothly and professionally. Would recommend!

I’ve never had any issue at any Halfords branch and this one was no exception. Booked 1 tyre replacement on short notice, arrived early for my slot and was assisted straight away. Wheel and tyre were checked, found to be just the valve and a puncture repair, saving me £50! The guys there, Hayden and Matthew, were brilliant and really lovely, made me feel comfortable and didn’t take advantage of a young woman like other garages have done in the past. Thanks for a great service!

Went to get a quote for a new catalytic converter. Staff were helpful and friendly, couldn't complete the work but helped my to get home by securing the exhaust. No charge.

Tried to come here for a Free Repair Check which I booked online, for a funny noise I'd been hearing alongside a loose radiator shield.

I was told upon arrival - contrary to the big 'repair' lettering freshly painted on the outside of the garage and the fact that this garage offers this check online- that they don't have anyone employed who is skilled enough to check my vehicle. After questioning this again, slightly in disbelief (I feel this is not an unrealistic expectation from a garage with 'repair' painted on the side) I was reluctantly told by the guy on the desk that he could take a look, but I'd still need it double-checked elsewhere.

Not necessarily the staff's fault here, but if you need your car looked at, don't go here - book the other Halfords Autocentre in Guildford.

This store have however previously been decent to me when patching up a tyre for free, though, so 2 stars on average.

Absolutely recommend Halfords Autocentre Guildford. Milan was excellent checking my brakes. He was so polite and efficient. A pleasure to visit them. Definitely will return.

I called them on the number here at 15:30 on 23 Dec. to book a flat tyre change on 24 Dec. Gave them my email, phone details and car details, they found the car on the registration database and they asked what tyre I needed. Told them the make and they said "how many do you need…. the quote per tyre is £345…. we have cheaper ones too… come at 08:30 tomorrow, and we will change it”.

Had the recovery track from AA to pick me up at 07:00 and drop me at the courtyard. When I went in, they said I'm not on their system, have no confirmation, didn't speak to them and not booked in.

Showed them the number and the time I called and they said "you must be confused, buddy, you never talked with us... I am the manager and I answer all the calls...in any case we don't have the tyre and you won't be serviced before the 28th even if we find the tyre". In fact, I talked to someone that passed me to someone else after a 2 minute hold (as per my initial paragraph above).

I must be dreaming, apparently, that I actually talked to someone, or that if I did I was told they don’t have the tire. I checked my sanity by re-looking at the number and calling it again. The number rang the garage, he answered and then put me on hold forever when I said I booked with you yesterday, basically ignoring my call this time.

Ended up calling a Mobile Tyre service that found the tyre in 30 mins and they were with me in 60 mins. Something they didn't even offer to do or suggested I could do.

If someone wants to help they will. But beyond that, lying and telling me I’m essentially “confused”, is another level of bad service. Especially, during XMAS time and especially when I'm stuck at home and being towed to your garage.
