THE FACTS: IBT quite rightly promptly cancelled our ski trip mid-March (scheduled 3rd-10th April) due to the outbreak. By the end of April IBT had issued a Credit Refund Note to our school (which is a full value credit note OR full refund on expiry (31st Jan 21). By the third week of May, IBT had arranged to refund ALL monies paid and parents were then given a full refund. All monies were returned into our school account by the end of May.
I think, in such awful circumstances, IBT were absolutely amazing. In comparison, I know other school ski trip party leaders in my local area who didn't hear from their ski company, then didn't receive any money back for many weeks and still (July 20) have not had all money refunded. As far as I am concerned IBT handled things extremely well - I as a party leader, and we as a school, have full confidence in using them next year and future years.
Update : IBT did finally refund HOWEVER
This was due to the fact that an official complaint was raised with both ABTA and the CMA
This was NOT a failing or miscommunication with the school
I had many email exchanges with the MD and the Manager and in the early days they simply dug their heels in and refused refunds
So for everyone that has received their refunds this was due to the fact that others were fighting the cause NOT because IBT managed this well
The handling of the COVID situation was nothing short of appalling
