Travel With Matthew Merthyr Tydfil

Thank you Travel with Matthew for ruining my birthday weekend. Do not use this company, totally unprofessional!! We booked a weekend away to Windsor Castle and Highclere Castle last year. I telephoned them last week to ask about pick up times etc, was told they would email me the details. Due to leave on Friday so all very excited, phone call today to say the trip has been cancelled. Bunch of amateurs!

I booked a trip for March which was subsequently cancelled. Rebooked for April, this too was cancelled. Only discovered this when I rung to see why I hadn't received any information regarding the trip. Apparently it had been cancelled the day before but no one ad informed me. Asked for a refund and told I have to wait 14 days. I paid mostly cash so was informed a cheque would be sent out. I politely requested that I could receive ASAP to enable me to take my granddaughter on her promised trip myself and avoid disappointing her AGAIN and they couldn't even do that. Have booked with this company on numerous occasions but will not be dealing with them again. Their customer service team need serious retraining and also senior members of the team need to be available to speak to customers and not be fobbed off with the excuse that there is no one available. Sort yourselves out people.

After our trip to London was cancelled by them in November 2021, we asked for a refund which we still haven't recieved 5 months later.
We have rang several times between then and now and been told many different things, such as checks will be sent out and that the money would be back in our account in x amount of days.

I highly recommend never booking with them.

Would definitely not recommend TWM was due to go to Harry Potter studios for my grand-daughter 9th birthday on the 26th February to be contacted via email that the trip had been cancelled without even 24hrs notice is absolutely disgusting. Rang three times over a period of 4 weeks for refund ,to be told they take 28 days to issue .

Was concerned having viewed several recent bad reviews however there was no need to worry. The coaches were excellent, drivers very friendly and helpful. Only thing that could be improved was the communication from the office, pick up times and full intinery should be provided at time of booking. Stayed at the TLH Derwent Hotel in Torquay which was fab, had a great time and would recommend Mathew Travel.

If you’re looking to book with TWM please take one look at “don’t travel with Matthew” on Facebook before doing so. Absolutely dreadful company. Taking peoples hard earned “cash” deposits, card machine apparently not working, then cancelling the trip, or in some cases not even communicating the trip has been cancelled leaving people waiting at pick up points. This is a warning to you all. My trip was cancelled 3 days before I was due to go been trying to get my money back. But they owe thousands of pounds to hotels and councils if you have a holiday booked with them you wont go or get your money back. They are starting a new company in a different name i will get to know the name and post it on here .please don't try and book with them if you do get them on the phone .they will take your money but there will be no holiday from this lying company. Travel with Matthew. Merthyr Tydfil.. beware.

Please don't book with this company, you will never see your money again. I'm owed £398 for a trip they cancelled due to "lack of interest". The initially said up to 28 days for a refund, then that changed to 6 weeks. I've had messages saying they have escalated it to the relevant department. Surprise, surprise, 6 weeks has passed and still no refund and they have now stopped replying to me. Very deceitful and dishonest and unlikely I will see my money again 😭
