Very cool WWII ear sub though it didn't actually serve in WWII. But it is a cold war vetran. The sub isn't big so you can go through it pretty good quick. We only had a few minutes before the last ferry back to the Portsmouth historic dockyards but the staff was incredibly accommodating and rushed us though so we could see all of it. The tour guild was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating.

Took my grandson who is 9 years old. He particularly enjoyed the interactive exhibits. The tour of the submarine itself was very well organised, entering at one end and passing all the way through. There were guides explain the details and, of course, a periscope to look through.

The HMS Alliance is definitely worth a visit! How often do you get a chance to go inside a submarine? It is very well kept for such an old vessel and after the walk around the submarine museum next door, this is something really special. The volunteers are really helpful and add their own flavour to the exhibit and make you feel welcome. The sounds, smells and interesting touches make this a superb exhibit.

Incredible. A fantastic display of marine history. The HMS Alliance tour gives you a real sense of what it would be like to live and work on a submarine. Its positively cramped, warm and noisy. A great experience.

The Alliance is presented in a wonderful state. You can get a result good idea of life on-board. Every single nook and cranny is filled with something to look at. There are volunteers on the sub that can tell you everything you need to know about life under the waves.

The alliance submarine from world war 2 is located on the west side of Portsmouth harbor next to the submarine museum. You have to take a boat to cross the bay. It was very interesting to sea the submarine inside. It is very narrow as you can see

A great experience and real eye opener of how life on a submarine really is.
