Lesnes Abbey Wood Fossil Park

Fantastic place if you have children who love digging for fossils. We found lots of great shark’s teeth and fossilised shells. The woods are also lovely for an autumnal walk and the Lesnes Abbey ruins are definitely worth exploring for their beauty and historical significance.
The only suggestion I would make is that the fossil pit could be better signposted although we did find it eventually!

There is a pit where you can dig for fossils. You probably can't take them back with you, I am not sure about that, but it's a nice experience.

A suprisingly nice place...loads of space to roam. Great for the kids as there is a good play area. Some nice woodland and history is a plenty

The Green Chain walk is a very nice experince. Easy to find directions. Be aware the road and watch out for signs. If you are experienced in hiking this is very easy.

Best things in life are free. Kids loved digging, and we found some shark teef'!

This place is so amazing! It was quiet and fresh, you may have a beautiful walk throught and reset your mind on the way. The dogs had an incredible walk too

A unique idea within the woodlands great for people of all ages to search for artifact that might be buried in the woodlands and information sign about the fossil in the woods.

Beautiful forest, it has a different path. You can walk for a short walk or a big one for 3/miles. Wood has a fossil place where children can dig and found an animal's bones. My children enjoying time in the playground, it's big, and also you can play mini football or basketball. At the Lesnes Abbey forget have a private Cafe, it's good but very slowly doing
