A very historic site with the worlds biggest tidal mill. There is also the clock mill and the film studios. The mill is grade 2 listed and there has been mills since the saxon times so if your someone who likes to take a view at historic sites then this is worth a visit. The place is also home to a beautiful park with a childrens play area.

We went to the Three Mills green before a Tescos shop, and was genuinely amazed at how pleasant it is. It was a sunny Sunday and not overly busy, and easy to get to from the car park (two adults & baby in push chair). Basically a big round patch of grass, with banked sloping edges, good for joggers, and with a nice playground for kids. Haven't been in the Three Mills studios, but was cool walking though the public bit - cobbled streets and old industrial architecture built over and around the river

Very unique and special place in East London. For a piece of tranquility and calmness - come here. This place looks like from a fairy-tail with a dark brick mill houses, their white tops and beautiful willows on the canal. You can watch birds here - loads of ducks, swans, snobby cormorants and busy cranes. I discover this place when jogging and found the area ideal for any kind of physical activity, nice walk and morning yoga. You can get a tour in the Mill House - check the schedule. It is the oldest tidal mill in England, the tour is very entertaining and enlightening. Happy to live nearby

3 Mills Studios; the iconic production destination in the heart of London’s most vibrant creative community.

Situated on an attractive island oasis in East London, 3 Mills Studios is one of the most accessible Studios in the UK with excellent transport links to Central London as well as international airports.

The island itself is great please to walk and be close to nature as green fields and canals around.

Three Mills Green/ and park is situated at Stratford in the London Borough of Newham. Also historically known as Three Mills Island, because it is encompassed by the River Lea and Bow Creek, Three Mills Weir Wall River, and the Prescott Channel. The island (Green / park) is an open space and has a history dating back to the Domesday Survey 1086. The actual Three Mills were once industrial buildings - the C.18th early House Mill ( still remain and the main tourist attraction ), the C19th Clock Mill, and a windmill - demolished in 1858. On Three Mills Green/ park are wide open well signposted footpaths and towpaths which provide good landmark pointers along your given walk 🚶‍♂️ route. During my visit here on the 20/9/22, I found the location easily reached and shorter in distance just north of the island - park in the High Street ( A118) Stratford - entrance from Danes Yard apartments ( Olympic Torch Sculpture opposite side ) then follow narrow bushy TOWPATH south towards the park entrance. There are some interesting modern sculptures and landscape architecture in the park/ Green. Local public events sometimes take place here, and the park itself free on entry. This location I integrated as part of my East London self mini - tours. It can easily be reached by TFL bus services in Stratford High Street nearby - I relied on bus stop (M) Warton Road eastbound No.108 and bus stop diagonal opposite Abbey Lane ( stop L) for 108 and D8 services westbound. There is Disabled access into the park. But from the High Street route the bushy sided towpath along Three Mills Weir Wall River is quite narrow and an uneven surface from this direction. More accessible and slightly closer from bus stop ( V ) in Hancock Road ( Tesco supermarket) - service D8 south/ westbound for the House Mill in Three Mills Lane / Three Mills Island Green - park.

1st visited 10 years ago when I rated it as my favourite place. Sadly the surrounding area has been taken over by new flats and very few trees. 3 mills is still an amazing piece of history but the few water birds are just hanging on looking for enough food. We must cherish these historic gems or they will be lost.

It's a nice peaceful place to sit and have a picnic or play table tennis 🎾 apart from when they have pop concerts and we can't use it that's a massive nuisance

Lovely park on the side of the canal. There is a Tesco two minutes away, a nice big patch of grass (perfect for the dogs!) and a few table tennis tables.
Good spot to stop off at when walking down the canal.
