A fantastic place to come on a weekend afternoon. Children absolutely love the railway. £1.50 a ticket. At least two different routes, with lots of different locomotives on them; steam, diesel and electric. Friendly staff as well. Big picnic area. Train ride surprisingly long and therefore good value. Parking easy. Can be very bymusy but with lots of trains the queue moves pretty fast.

How I didn’t know this place existed until recently is beyond me, it’s quite special for young children and more grown-up enthusiasts alike! My only reason for not giving five stars is that it feels as though safety is just slightly overlooked. I saw a young boy being treated for getting soot in his eyes and the whole thing is very relaxed. The tuck shop is cute with ‘Cornetto Style’ ice creams sold at rock bottom prices along with the more than reasonable train ride tickets at £1.50 each with kids under 3 riding for free. What’s not to like!

Well organised with LOTS of free parking. Worth every penny and very much kid friendly. Thanks to all the volunteers who give up their time to bring a lot of smiles to so many faces. Looking forward to our next visit!

The Christmas opening was a huge hit for our 3 year old! We could see how much effort had been put in to make it special. Great to see Santa riding the trains 🎅😂😂

What a ride! Well organised and friendly staff. Plenty of parking on site. Bought the tickets online in advance. We really love it.
It feels exactly like taking a train with all the lights and tracks, over and under the bridges. Really great for all ages!
Spacious and the miniature locomotives were amazing. Really fortunate to have these on our door steps! Will definitely return and thank you very much!

Went with two children and they loved it (wife and I did as well). Rides between 8 & 12 minutes long and you can go on as many times as you like. Very little queuing, longest 3 minutes. Lots of staff/volunteers and all of them very pleasant and engageable. Having good weather was the icing on the cake.

Great couple of hours with my Grandchildren who loved every ride - despite the pouring rain!
Run by a lovely group of enthusiasts.
Hopefully the tea room will be open again soon.
