Wait for the tour boat to go pass this lock, and you will be witnessing the opening of 4-5 locks of different water levels and the side swinging bridge.

Lovely sites to see. Limited infrastructure away from locks. Different from the English canals.

Tourists flock to the opening hours of the floodgates. You can enjoy the beautiful village together with the scenery of Loch Ness.

Driven past a few times, even stopped and went to gift shop before. Well worth walking further down to the bridge!

A short but interesting walk seeing the bridge, control box and walking up and around the ladder for the canal boats.

Kids loved walking over the canal gates.

Chanced upon the locks in operation during a brief walk around. Despite torrential rain and being soaked through we were enchanted enough to stay a while and watch. The low rumble followed by underwater gushing and swirling felt as though the mechanisms were rising from a long slumber.

There are a few plaques around the locks with some info on the history.

Very cool to watch the canal in action and the surrounding area if a little lacking, is very nice. Not a must see attraction but nice nevertheless
