Brecon Mountain Railway

We didn’t go inside. Hence, we are not certain of details inside. However, we had the opportunity to drive past the beautiful mountain railway station. From what we saw on the outside, I can say it’s very beautiful. There’s a little town centre around here not far from the station to catch up on some snacks/meals, coffee and other practical things. I can recommend this visit, at least if you are around this side of the earth.

If your in the area of this steam train railway station it’s well worth the trip up the mountains the views are amazing. You stop on route for a leg stretch with amazing views. There’s a tea shop made from carriages on the sidings to purchase drinks and snacks lots of picnic table too. Such a lovely couple of hours spent chugging up the mountains. Recommend by myself and family.

Had a great time spending father's day here with my family. We all the loved the 1.5hr trip and taking in the beautiful peaceful views of Brecon Mountains. It was great to see how a steam train functions up close too. The seating can be quite tight but our trip was not jampacked so it was fine even for us with a toddler.

A pleasant place to spend a couple of hours, with the tea room and the train, and the nice views. Dependant on the weather a little but the carriages will keep you dry. Hopefully in the future a little more interaction with the history, local environment and how it has changed. P. S. The dog loved the train ride and the special treat he got from the tea room... So a big thank you from him also!

A lovely steam railway. A great ride along the hillside with fantastic views across the valley. Sad to see the reservoir getting lower, we definitely need the rain. Good facilities at both the main station and the little cafe part way along the route. Definitely recommend and would love to go back. Thanks to all staff who made the experience even more enjoyable

What a delightful trip in the best of the weather. The views up and down were amazing. We had a good coffee at Pant station cafe and an icecream at the 30 min stop. Loved the station itself with the workshop. On a cooler day we might have chosen to walk some of the route but at 32° the train took the strain.

Had a fabulous time today with my sister, daughter and 7 year old, train enthusiast grandson at the Brecon Mountain Railway. Travelling on the train was great fun, with amazing views, despite a little bit of drizzle. Gareth the Guard was brilliant; really informative, super friendly and very helpful in making sure we had some great photos of my grandson posing by the train with a hat and flag. Also a special mention for “great-grandad” Graham the train driver 😜. If you arrive early, or fancy sticking around for a bit after your train journey, there are lots of sandwiches, pasties and yummy homemade cakes available to have with a hot cuppa or cold drink. There are also some vegan options available, which was ideal for the vegan in our party. All in all, a great experience for us all. Highly recommend.
