Calder Island is a great place to visit. We took one of the many small boats that get people on and off the island. These cost £13 per person for a return ticket. There are reductions for pensioners and a family ticket.

There are various easy walks to take once there. The walks have a few benches that would make ideal picnic spots.

There are a number of car parks on the town. I chose the North Beach one as it had larger spaces and £3 for the day. (About a ten minute walk from the harbour).

Well worth the foot ferry journey to this delightful religious sanctuary to enjoy the peacefulness of the island. The walk up to the lighthouse reveals wonderful views, a place to picnic on tables provided and a wealth of bird life to see. The architecture of the monastery is beautiful and the guided tour is well worthwhile. There is a seasonal cafe that provides light food and refreshments and a delightful shop selling produce from the island: Honey, Candles, fragrances and memorabilia. It all adds up to a delightful day out.

Reaching the tower needs a small hike filled with lovely views all across the way. The views from the top are exceptionally beautiful and breathtaking.

To reach the Caldey Island take a boat from the Tenby Harbor, takes around 20-30 min to reach.

It is just a lighthouse. You cannot visit inside so a photo opportunity only.

Caldey is a great place to visit, it has a cafe (out door seating) museum, gift shop and gallery. The views are spectacular, and it's only a 20 minute boat trip from Tenby

A brilliant day out that won’t be forgotten.

Book a ticket for the ferry by the quay and head to North Beach to board. Lovely 15 minute boat trip to the Holy Island. Look out for dolphins and seals on the way.

A short walk through the woods takes you to the village green. Coffee shop, gift shop and duck pond and the amazing monastery.
Take the long walk to the lighthouse with views of Tenby town and Carmarthenshire Pembrokeshire coastline. Keep a look out for sunbathing seals

A real pleasure visiting Caldey Island, took a wonderful walk around the island, then caught the glimpse of the lighthouse. A great walk up on a beautiful day, had seen red squirrels as we walked and then got to the lighthouse, amazing views across the water out to sea. Such a stunning place, the whole island is worth visiting and helps get those steps in too! Would be fantastic if you could get a tour of the lighthouse, although I'd imagine that would be quite challenging. Make sure you check out the Post office, Chocolate Factory and shops, as well as the Church and Abbey, the memories are great!
