Hi
Ours walk was a long one 😁 We started at Moel Famu car park up to Moel Famu itself and then up and down, up and down, up and down to the Moel Arthur Fort and BACK. Just over 6h walk with few stops for Coffee and some salad. On the phone samsung health app showed us 16.43 km distance, 26 432 steps, 1415kcal. The views, sun and of course company - all of it was worth it !!!

A short steady walk to the hill fort from the carpark with some worthwhile views when up there.

Amazing hill fort with easy access along Offas Dyke trail. Well worth the hike on a sunny day.

Moel Arthur Circular Walk.

We completed this hike on a late sunny afternoon in March. Conditions were great, warm, & dry.
But it looks like some parts could be very muddy if wet.
I’ve added plenty of photos to show the type of terrain you should expect.
We walked this circular trek anti-clockwise. Parking our car in the small lay-by first.
Then we completed the steep hike to the summit of Moel Arthur initially, with Moel Famau behind our backs as we hiked up.
This took approx 20mins.
The views from the top are fantastic!
Then we dropped down the other side & continued on the circular. Once you drop down the other side you will see another car park which is for Pennycloddiau Hill Fort. At this point the trail continues down the main road , then bares left onto a bridle way . This is where it could be very muddy if wet. This bridle way continues for most of the rest of the hike & can get a little monotonous & a little gloomy under trees from the nearby Quarry Wood. As the trail circles itself back towards the base of Moel Arthur & closer to your hikes end, the views open open again & makes for a nice trip back towards a main road that leads to your car.

Drive up to the car park. Throw some food and grub in a back pack. Then get up to the top and just admire the views. Awesome views for minimal effort.

Great medium effort walk which takes around 20mins from nearby car park to the top. Fantastic views with options to continue along the various paths around.
