This railway station, at Whitchurch, has its own reasonably sized car park (some of which is tarmacked, but some of it just seems to be gravel in places). Maybe anything from about 25 to 35 cars could comfortably park here (and there are five spaces for disabled parking as well).

The railway station itself has two platforms (one for trains heading towards Shrewsbury, and one for trains heading towards Crewe and beyond). There is a bicycle rack on the Crewe bound platform which can accommodate about three bicycles.

The station does have covered passenger sheltered areas on both platforms (where seating is also provided).

There is a self-service ticket machine which sits on the Crewe bound platform.

There are no staff on site, but at least there are real time digital displays of trains that are due to arrive in the near future.

Not old trains stop at Whitchurch railway station, but the ones that do stop at Whitchurch tend to have only one railway carriage, although this is not always the case.

There are no obvious signs of CCTV cameras in and around the station car park.

The railway station car park is also the location of a bus stop where buses depart from there every now and then. There are two bus services that run to / from Whitchurch railway station car park, but they only seem to arrive (or depart) upto four times in a day (and there are no bus services on Sunday at all).

Ticket Machine only. No staff. No disabled access to Shrewsbury bound trains. Recent new Tarmac on Car Park. Car parking limited. Very limited public street parking on housing estate (opposite station main entrance). Overall; Poor rural station in need of improvement and larger car park.

Terrible station. I've been to several stations now and this one isn't as good as some others i have visited. For a start it only has 2 platforms. When I visited Liverlool Street recently it had over 20 platforms. Vending machine had a poor selection of crisps. I'm partial to a bag of cheese and onion, but all they had was salt and vinegar. Come on guys sort it out please. Also the gravel in the car park wasnt gravely enough. I've been to several other station car parks recently which all had a much better standard of gravel. Again come on guys please remedy ASAP. As a final thought I think the station may be haunted. If you stand on platform 2 at around 1230am on a Tuesday in mid winter you can still hear the moans of Clifford who used to work collecting tickets on this line back in the 70s. Scary stuff

Quite a sub par station honestly and for a town as big as this, it really deserves a much better train service than the 1 train per 2 hours + a few others sprinkled throughout the day. Despite a new footbridge, there's only step free access towards Crewe, which can be extremely annoying.

Both sides have seating, shelter and a ticket machine which only accepts card/NFC payments. A medium sized car park is available too, right in front of the station. Also worth mentioning that there is a bit of a step down from the train to the platform, so be careful.

Overall, could be a lot better.
