South Wigston

One of the nicest stations in the Wigston area. Excellent views of trains. Helpful staff and a good range of shops. Good connections for Paris

Baron, unstaffed station with narrow platforms and tiny bus shelters.

Trains tend to be 2 hourly despite there being an hourly service between Leicester and Birmingham.

Crap

If you just miss the Birmingham train, go the other way to Leicester and come back on yourself.

At the moment trains don't run regularly every hour from this station. Plus it's expensive too compared to other stations outside Leicestershire boundary. The train to Birmingham is usually over crowded and it is difficult to find seats especially at peak times. No idea why they don't add extra carriages and lower the ticket prices because it just discourages people from using it. Cost for a single anytime ticket from South Wigston to Hinckley is over 11 pounds for a 13 minute trip.

Looks like it has been forgotten and abandoned. No staff, no facilities, limited information, no ticket machine. Very poor compared to the time when the station had staff working there.
Platforms small, limited shelter, feels unsafe.
There is a car park but difficult to find as poorly signposted and surrounded by one way streets and dead ends. Easier to park in the local streets.

Unlike the review below there is no staff and a train every 2 hours and e ery 1 hour during peak times in evenings local teenagers gather there so not a nice place

Unpleasant at night. Functional but dull, with no amenities whatsoever except one of those awful bus shelter things if it rains.

Great selection for a small shop, staff are brilliant always lovely and polite.
