Brilliant station. Great disabled access, ramps and lifts to everywhere in the station.
Very frequent trains on weekdays and on Saturdays, slightly less on a Sunday.

Toilets. Ticket machine/office. Lots of steps! Quite large with view of mountains. Staff on site. Departure boards. Parking is a bit of a nightmare as car park is tiny and located at front of building for pickingup/drop off only.

We visited Pontypridd Town Centre for the first time since its regeneration and it looks like a more prosperous town now, although due to some building works, it is still a work in progress.

Ponty is a beautiful, historic town on the confluence of the rivers Rhondda and Taf. Lovely pedestrianised shopping street with a number of cafés. Gorgeous park over the river, just a few steps from the shops. Fabulous railway station towers proudly above the town just over the main road. Wonderful!

The council is trying hard to revive this neglected town. The new library, office buildings, granite walkways and the demolition of the eyesore clad County cinema. It'll take more than investment to improve the feel of the town centre though. Drinking culture next.

Pontypridd Town is bustling after suffering shop closures due to storm Denis and then the Covid 19 pandemic. There are some lovely new clothes shops opened and also some trendy bars, such as No 12 in Market Square and the Gatto Longe just above Gas Road carpark. There are more shops being upgraded and the indoor Market has a variety of cuisine, one being famed for the winner of masterchef.
Very frequent trains on weekdays and on Saturdays, slightly less on a Sunday.
