I have just completed my level 2 in Hairdressing at the Borehamwood academy. And absolutely loved it. I was what the academy call a private learner and I have to admit I was very worried I was about to "waste" my last bit of savings. I couldn't have been more wrong, it was the best investment in myself I could have done. The teaching, the salon, the resources are top spec. I can honestly say I have never met such a lovely team of tutors & assessors, they make you realize you have talents you never knew existed in you.

Thank you all for such a lovely year, a qualification and a life trade I will have forever.

Hard-up but in need of a hairdo? Try Learning Curve Group Hair & Beauty Academy in Borehamwood. My mummy has been going there for a few years now and has always been satisfied, whether she has had a cut and blow-dry or colouring.

You need to give a lot of time as it is a hairdressing training academy. The students are meticulous and well supervised, so no need to worry. Most recently mummy had her hair coloured for £18 and had a free cut and blow-dry as a student needed to give one for an assessment.
Try to have the correct money as they often have to go and find change.

Literally the worst hairdresser experience I've ever had (and I've been to hair training academies many times before). You assume if anything goes wrong while the students are cutting your hair the trainer will rectify it but in this case it was the trainer who completely and utterly botched my hair.

I had to go to a salon the very next day and the hairdresser couldn't believe how bad it was. It looked like a child had hacked away at my hair with blunt scissors.

Aside from the bad cut the trainer spent the entire 3.5hours I was there shouting at the students which made for a very uncomfortable and awkward experience. I recommend everyone stays away from this place.
