The lady at ticket counter this afternoon was rude and helpless. She didn't help me at all and she didn't even give an answer about a simple question, she couldn't be bothered at all. The 2 males staff at the gate lovely they helped me and very really nice. Thank you guys

Why is there always 1 or 2 ticket machines that are out of order. And always on the worst days when everyone renew their week pass.

By far one of the worst laid out train stations in the UK.

- Too many different bus stops
- Walkways over the tracks are far too small for the capacity the station takes
- Small number of drop-off space for cars
- High parking charges, if you are lucky to get a space
- Expect to damage your car in the Victoria Rod multi-storey carpark as the ramps have poorly designed walls at their entrances
- Regular ticket machine issues in station
- Forget about buying tickets at the desks on a Monday morning
- High bicycle theft (Highest in country 2017).
- No walkway entrances on other main roads around the station (eg Hatfield Road)
- Most reserved parking bays ate taken/ rented to local businesses with over a year waiting list.

Only good thing is that there is usually a good supply of taxi’s outside, but during rush hour you could be spending more time getting out of the diabolical station feeder roads because of it’s terrible design.

If I could give the station a negative score I would.

Haven't been here in years. Ticket machine would not take my card so had to queue. Card worked absolutely fine! Smith's gone, station a muddle, toilets closed on 2/3. Best avoided if you can!

Machine sells you tickets which you're not permitted to use. Staff then say you have to cross to the main ticket office, via the road rather than through the station, in order to get a refund

Having read some of the other reviews that doubt the station, I believe that this station is good enough for use. Has plenty of accessible continuous journeys through the bus station with regular services (up to date information on onward bus services) and regular enough services fast and slow into London. The station is going through some renovations at the moment but the coffee shop has opened a small coffee stand to replace it. I agree that there isn’t enough toilets here, however, removing them made room for a nice new waiting room. The toilets may be coming in the renovation work. And anyway, the trains have loos as well! Thameslink are putting money into this major station and it is a good thing as thousands of people come through here. People slagging off this station about the mess is down to the renovation work that is needed here at St Albans.
