It was built as a proper railway station, and has become the terminus for the Central Line, but bizarrely not included in the weekend Nightube service, despite being a no-brainer destination point. It's actually 10 minutes uphill to Epping high street.

The station itself is fine, clean and tidy and fit for purpose with very nice tea/coffee stall outside but the toilet is absolutely disgusting. The toilet pan itself is OK, but the walls are crumbling away, there is caked on dust on the pipes, the skirting, all low level surfaces. Cobwebs everywhere even on the toilet brush holder. I hate going in there and try so very hard to hang on until I get home. It stinks of urine too. In this modern day and age I am astounded that it can be left in this condition.
