In January 2020 I booked two business class flights to Cape Town through this company for travel in 2021. As a result of travel restrictions our flights were cancelled and I was issued a travel voucher. The travel restrictions continued so in June 2021I cancelled the flights and I was given confirmation from Qatar airways that they refunded the full amount to Dreamworld Travel on 1st July 2021. I was then informed that I would be charged a 15% admin fee by Dreamworld Travel. This amounted to a £650 admin charge. I was told in July 2021 that the refund would be in my account within 4 weeks. 8 months later and after emailing them weekly I was still waiting for my refund.
I took out a county court money claim against them in May 2022 at a further cost of £205.
Dreamworld Travel do not want to be taken to court and today they have settled in full and refunded me to avoid a court case.
I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE IN THE SAME POSITION TO DO AS I HAVE DONE IF YOU WANT YOUR MONEY BACK.
IT IS A STRAIGHT FORWARD PROCESS ONLINE THROUGH GOV.UK.
Book our holiday back in February 2022 to travel the 20th July 2022. For the last 6 weeks I've wasted loads of hours on hold only to be told the same thing, they kept promising that we would get our tickets 1 month before travel, then they said 10 days, then they say we had priority only to receive an email today saying
"Firstly, we would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused due to this unforeseen situation and we have been trying our best to procure any availability for your trip but unfortunately, in light of current circumstances and inventory based error, the efforts are in vain, hence, in order to avoid any delay and inconvenience for you we shall escalate a prioritized refund for the amount you paid, to our finance department"
What current circumstances? They never paid for our tickets on time and when they try to book it at last minute the prices had rocketed sky high. And with an stupid apology they think they made it all better.
I worked so hard to go home and visit my family and my father's final resting place, he passed away last year during the pandemic and haven't been able to visit his grave and this people think by saying " Oh sorry" suddenly it's all better.
So please, please read all the bad reviews that they have and go somewhere else for your travel packages.
I have together with other that have been affected by this company, contacted bbc watchdog to make sure they don't do this to more people.
I have now asked my credit card for the refund. Absolutely worst experience with these guys.
Am still waiting for my money, a bunch of liars not trust worthy. Be very careful they may sound nice over the phone but when it comes to refund your money they make it is very painful. I’ve email the travel agency many times and it’s a shame, it is the same response that we have forward your request to our finance team.
I will not let this company keep my money for so long this is an absolute disgrace.
I am now seeking legal advise to get my money back.
Don’t fall under their charm.
PLEASE read bad reviews from others and there are so many!! They pay people for the good reviews.
DO NOT USE THIS DREAM WORLD TRAVEL!
If you have already booked and like me read reviews after not getting e-ticket do not believe them if you finally get through.
They are scamming the airlines for the money. You should be able to get your money back from the bank you paid with. BUT you will not get on your flight!! They are using fake cards and booking through different airlines and code sharing so they can’t trace back on how it was paid. But airline will catch up and you won’t get your flight or worse you will get there and not be able to return!
I was told when I was at the check in desk at the airport that I was not on the list! Even though I had called airlines and confirmed my booking was paid and my seat booked! I even checked the app for my flight which was still showing my confirmed seat 20 minutes before!!
So a wasted journey to the airport and back again, trouble of claiming back money and trying last minute to book another ticket which cost triple the price than if I had originally booked direct with the airline! I ended up on a 33hour flight on mixed budget airlines to get to my destination.
SO PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR SAVE YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY DO NOT USE THEM AND IF YOU HAVE GET YOUR MONEY BACK NOW AND REBOOK WITH AIRLINE DIRECT!
