Great place for booking a holiday. If you think that a high street travel agent cannot be cheaper than on line bookings then think again. We saved over 20% on a holiday to Las Vegas compared with everything we looked at on line including cashback sites.

So much nicer discussing details face to face with friendly experienced staff than sitting at home on a computer.

We booked our honeymoon for Christmas in Lanzarote. Michelle was lovely and very helpful but on arrival at East Midlands our registration was not recognised. We spoke on the machine and were told they did not have our booking (booked by Hays) and were directed to another car park and told to take a token. I tried to call Hays over 30 times but no reply. I e-mailed from departures and got a reply on arrival in Lanzarote saying we had been rebooked from 6pm but may have to pay for the first few hours and would get our money back immediately on return. The hotel was great and food but slightly disappointed that nothing had been done to mark our honeymoon though both Hays and the hotel knew. On return to collect our vehicle again our reg was not recognised and the only way we could get out of the car park was to pay £120 we had already paid nearly £70. Luckily we had held back on spending in case we had a problem with the car park again which we did. Next day I phone hays again over 30 times and no reply. We went in store on the Monday and were told the manager needed to authorise our refund and was off til Saturday. This was 30th December and not once did we get a call from the manager. We finally got a refund direct from the airport on 30th January. By 11th Feb and we still had heard nothing from the manager at Hays Mansfield, not an apology or offer of any compensation. We would never use Hays Mansfield again, we booked the year before with an independent Hays advisor who is now a manager in another Hays store and really wish we had gone there but went in Mansfield as we were in town and thought we would call in there for convenience. Since then the Manager rang and talked over me throughout my complaint and still offered nothing to compensate. Her attitude was appalling and told her I would complain to Head office which I did who were no help either just full of excuses. They did not even mention the manager's appalling way of dealing with a complaint or the branch not answering their phone over sixty times or why I had no reply to my online feedback! Dreadful customer service all round I would say, not even worthy of the one star I had to give
