Slidepods

After much research to find a product that would fit my needs: Day van with flexibility to use the van as a van sometimes, the Slidepod product looked the best and reviews by others were all positive. The only two issues were price and lead time. There are a few other products similar that are cheaper and quicker to procure. Fortunately the lead time was within my needs to use (2 months) and although more expensive, if better than the others I was prepared to pay the extra. Also, they seem to have brand recognition so this can only help with resale.
I wasn't disappointed. When ready the unit was fitted in a very short time and of good quality. All descriptions and details were accurate and we were using the unit the very same day with no head scratching.
Thanks to Anna and Johnny for their friendly service and advice. They gave me some great tips on fridges, where to camp and various other useful bits that was nice to learn before the first family camper-van trip ever!

I needed my T6 to still be used as a Kombi, so Slidepods was the best solution to give me a ‘hybrid’ camper without compromising the flexibility of a van. The team worked with me to build my spec, and even saved me money by simplifying my original idea. The quality, design and equipment installation couldn’t be bettered by even VW. the enormous bed is super comfy, the lighting and sockets are so handy whilst travelling and the hookup just makes everything so easy. The shower attachment was a good shout, great for the sand and bath shy toddlers! They also fit the cab bunk for us, would definitely recommend these guys, there’s nothing about vans they don’t know! Slidepods converted our 2018 VW T6 Kombi van into a spacious and comfortable camper, with a superb SCA elevating roof, and a Kombi Slidepod, which utilises the existing factory passenger seats to provide a full width bed. The pod is positioned at the rear of the van, giving us a slide out kitchen unit, containing two gas burners and a sink, at a perfect height for cooking under the tailgate. The result is very different from the usual side kitchen and narrow bed in most VW Transporter conversions, and suits us perfectly. Communication with the company has been excellent and we were able to refine our specification very easily. The team at Slidepods are very friendly, and despite the restrictions of the Covid pandemic the conversion was timely and efficient. We specified quite a comprehensive package including solar power for off-grid use, diesel heating, swivel passenger and driver seats, carpet lining, insulation and a bike rack. Slidepods supplied and fitted all of the kit. Craftsmanship is excellent and the finished product is a joy to use. We thoroughly recommend this company.

My wife Candy had a slidepod fitted 2 years ago into her VW SWB Kombi. I wanted it to look more like a camper for her so we went back and had a Dart conversion, under slung water tank, 180W solar panel for off grid electrics, on grid electrics and a SCA194 pop top. My wife was so happy on picking it up she cried. lol. The many skills the guys have at Slidpod can satisfy anyone's camper wishes. You would not go wrong with choosing Slidepod.
