My aunt recommended Aspava. From the moment we walked through the doors the service was great. We ordered from the lunch time menue which had 2 for £10 or 3 foe £12 i think. Starters came quickly and they were delicious... I ordered the lamb shish which came with rice salad and bread for my main... it was so tasty. Will definitely be coming back very soon.

Fantastic food. Great tasting food. Great drinks. Went with a few friends and had a lovely time. Very budget friendly as well for the quality of the food. Very good service and cheerful staff. Highly recommend.

We came here for an anniversary meal on a lovely warm and sunny Sunday so decided to sit outside as the atmosphere inside seemed a bit dull and dingy for such a lovely day and I'm so glad we did. It's a lovely space outside that makes you feel like you could be on holiday in the Mediterranean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and kept checking up on us to make sure everything was OK. However the main reason you come to a restaurant is of course the food and I'm afraid it was a bit of a letdown. Two meals had to be sent back because they weren't warm enough and most of the meat in all dishes was overcooked and dry. They were also quite small portions and so I wasn't satisfied when finished. I think how you rate this place will depend on your experiences of Turkish restaurants as it wasn't terrible, it was just not up to the standard of others I've visited, particularly in the town of Hoddesdon where there are a couple and the meat quality is exceptional so this just came up sub par. There were also two mistakes on the bill so had to be sent back twice

Genuine Turkish food at a good price.
Hidden gem in the city of St. Albans.
The lunch set menu is just a great deal!

Friendly and ethusiastic staff! The food was well presented... I had the lamb shish was a little dry but otherwise nice. The rice they serve with the dishes isnt enough for a whole portion so we had to order another rice. I like that they add Pomergranate and Blueberries to the rice. Nice outdoor seating setting. Would come again. Fair price. There is a carpark nearby within short walking distance.

Great atmosphere and location. Staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious however the portions were on the smaller side. The mains required at least one or two sides to make it filling enough.

A little Turkish gem in St Albans!

Visited here in July 2022.

The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere and we took advantage of the nice weather and sat outside. We parked locally at the Civic Centre Multi Story which is a bit of a dump. It was a short walk past the Alban Arena.

Overall summary, we had a lovely experience and the food was great. I would definitely recommend the restaurant and will return soon!

As we walked up to the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome.

For starters we had falafel, hummus, Cacik and Grilled Sujuk. All fantastic!

For mains, we had the lamb chops, chicken wings and a mixed platter for 2. Again, everything was very well prepared.

Finally, We were treated to a lovely plate of baklava and fruit which was delicious!

Looking forward to my next visit!

Food was great. Service was poor. We waited an extra 20 mins for our reservation on Saturday - which was no problem, but once seated waited ages. Two tables that were seated after us, got drinks and starters before anyone even approached us.
