Kumon Maths & English

As a recent graduate from the Forest Hill Kumon Centre, completing the English programme and reaching Level O in Mathematics, I would describe my studies there as being both enjoyable and mentally stimulating. It has encouraged me to adopt a studious attitude when it comes to academic studies due to the daily work that needs to be completed.

The thoroughness of the work helped me build a solid foundation in both subjects and has given me the tools to excel above my peers at school. My Kumon work always pushed me beyond my school's curriculum and encouraged wider reading around topics that were covered in the work. Problems that I had with the work were explained to me in depth by the instructor, often prompting me to try different paths or to take a broader view of the problem.

I continue to apply the techniques and knowledge I've acquired from studying at the Forest Hill Kumon Centre and I'm very satisfied with the quality of the Centre as a whole.

My son Ethan has been doing kumon Maths and English since he was 5 and now he is in year 10 he feels that kumon English (which he completed in year 8) has really benefited him in secondary school, teaching him how to answer questions from reading extracts and to find the definition of new words and using them in written work.

Maths kumon has helped him to problem solve with ease and answer different equations which has helped him in school.

Maths kumon has helped him to be ahead in class and given him the tools to work independently. Ethan is still doing his Maths and is hoping to complete the programme.

I've felt as a parent that kumon has helped Ethan's growth within his learning and has helped to built his confidence and enabled him to answer question in both Maths and English.

I started Kumon at the Forest Hill centre when I started reception. Kumon maths has helped me to build a mathematical foundation for my key stage levels and develop further on to more advance A-level maths. Doing Kumon maths gave me an advantage in primary school, secondary school and now sixth form because I gain knowledge from topics that haven't be taught in lesson yet and also helped me to work better independently.

Kumon has helped me with my time management skills. I had daily homework/booklets provide every week to be completed by the next session, this has helped me to learn how to organise my time with my school homework and even in exams when doing a test as now I'm able to plan how long it should take for me to answer questions.

The instructor, Ann Rolfe has been very helpful and encouraging through my kumon experience. The kumon centre is very organised and all the staff provided great support and assistance throughout my Kumon maths experience,

I would definitely recommend this Kumon centre since it's the perfect working environment for learning and had a huge influence on my academic achievements.

Kumon is a beneficial company located in several places in London to provide your child/children with the best start for their academic future. I attended Kumon Maths & English, Honor oak from the age of four until thirteen. I studied both Maths and English which I highly recommended is required for your child/children. Ann Rolfe (the instructor) is extremely helpful and flexible with all of her students throughout your Kumon experience. With her guidance, I was able to be a completer of the English programme which was a sentimental experience that I will never forget. All the staff at the Honor oak centre are kind and warming towards your child/children providing a suitable environment for your child to work in. Personally, I believe that the Maths programme helped me the most when starting secondary school as the topics I began to learn in Maths I already knew because of Kumon. This put me in a comfortable position at an early stage.

I have done kumon for 3 years. Doing maths at kumon has enabled me to know the structure of maths which has helped me to achieve A’s&A* in my GCSEs which I undertook in 2016. Ann (tutor) has been a great support in my 3 years of attending Kumon and she has motivated and pushed me to achieve my goals. I recommend kumon to all As it enables individuals to strive for the very best & teaches individuals to work independently in order to be confident when answering questions.

Kumon has been wonderful for my son: it gave him some focussed, calm time to steadily and confidently improve his timekeeping and accuracy in his Maths and English work, especially during the lead up to entrance examinations for secondary school. I wished I’d started it sooner. Mona and her team are organised, welcoming and friendly and dedicated to supporting the children’s progress. Thank you for your patience and encouragement for our son.
