Kumon Maths & English

The level of excellence that Nina and her team at Kumon Thornton Heath have provided is immeasurable! We cannot be thankful enough! Even throughout a global pandemic, our daughter has been fully supported with weekly online lessons, regular tests to review her progress and even delivery of her work to our door! Nina and the Kumon team has ensured in every possible way that our daughter stays on top of her work and is ahead of her school! We are extremely grateful for Kumon and the progress that our daughter has made with the programme. Cannot rate it highly enough! Thank you Nina and Kumon! 👍🏼👌🏼😁

My twin sons started Kumon at a very young age and continued for almost 7 years. There is no doubt that their confidence and success in Maths and in particular, A Level (A, A*), is down to the great foundations of the Kumon system of learning. At 16 , they became Kumon assistant tutors and continued to support Kumon for two years before going off to university to study Nuclear Science and Economics. Their 11 year old sister currently studies Math and English with Kumon and grows in confidence daily. The way Nina and the team at Thornton Heath Kumon, inspire the children and implement events and rewards to keep them motivated is commendable and I would recommend Nina and the team without hesitation. The entire Kumon team are kind, patient, and understanding and provide a great deal of support and encouragement to the children. Having known Nina as both tutor and first employer to my sons, I can honestly say we feel blessed to have had such a great start for not only their education but their first introduction to the workplace. In the words of my children, simply put Nina is, “kind, bright and supportive”. Thank you Kumon.

My son started Kumon in Reception, he’s now in yr 3 and his mental maths keeps growing from strength to strength. The routine of Kumon has helped him with his confidence and the support we receive from Nina and her team has been brilliant, especially during the pandemic where sessions has continued on line. My son looks forward to his sessions which is great to see as a parent.

My son has been attending Kumon in Thornton Heath for approximately eighteen months. It all started with his report half way through his first academic year at his secondary school. In the report a lot of the humanity based subjects he was struggling with. As with any parent you start looking at all the options based on the commonalities. The commonality was that he was struggling with understanding some of the questions or sometimes misinterpreting questions, in tests and exams. The options,that was the confusing part as there are so many. I read up on Kumon and realised that my son needed this habitual style of learning to instill better reading and better interpretation. When I called Nina at Kumon I remember from just speaking to Nina, she showed a great level of professionalism and expertise, her pragmatism was winning me over, based on just a verbal initial phone call, I signed up verbally based on this. To be honest I have not been disappointed, to this day. Nina is really hard working, very organised, has a common sense approach and always approachable. Nina has built up a rapport with us which is important for my sons development.

Since my son started Kumon all his humanity based subjects have improved where English is the higher element, being History, Geography and English itself. Also his Science has improved, and solemnly believe that this is down to constant daily workbook exercises and weekly assessments, making his understanding of questions a lot better. He has jumped leaps and bounds and the Kumon with Nina has helped Eesa a great deal. I would always ask him, is Kumon helping, and his words are "Dad it really is helping" . The everyday practice of questions and reading really does help and my sons progress is the proof in the pudding.

I will always recommend Kumon with Nina based on my experience , I wouldn't entertain any other option

My daughter said to me " Mommy I am so happy that you pushed me to do Kumon maths all these years". And as a parent this warms my heart knowing that I have given her the best possible start with a subject that some finds quite scary. She studied at the Thornton heath centre with Nina and she is now doing amazing in her first year at Secondary school. So a massive shout out to Nina for the great job that you have done. I was worried about my son’s focus and general literacy which took a big hit during the lockdown. Since beginning Kumon in June 2021, I have noticed tremendous improvements in his reading, comprehension and general literacy. He does his daily work without being reminded (sometimes in the morning before going off to school or immediately after school), he is now very focused and is quickly becoming a very independent learner.
His school report this term says his reading and literacy is above his school year group and his vocabulary is vast.
I am very very pleased with his improvements considering where we were last year and will keep up with Kumon.

Thanks to Kumon, for supporting my children with subjects Maths and English. Nina has been fantastic throughout. With just a phone call and she is always willing to make that extra video call to support my children with any difficulties they may encounter. Thank you!

Our son has been with Kumon Thornton Heath for over 2 years. His skills in Maths has improved so much and he is more confident. We are very pleased with his progress he has made so far.
Nina and her team are amazing! They carried on with their fantastic work even during the lockdown with their online classes.
