Kumon Maths & English

I’m so glad I discovered Kumon. My 9 year old son has ADD and Dyscalculia, he was almost a year behind in school. Since starting Kumon maths and English a few months ago he has jumped up dramatically in his school work and it’s amazing to watch him work through the adding up sheets as he’s now so fast a mental arithmetic he’s like a machine! What a wonderful concept Kumon really is. It’s so amazing it should be done in schools. Not cheap but worth every penny! Keep up the great work Catherine and your lovely team.

Having had my 13 year old daughter and 9 year old son both attend, I can say that both of them have benefited greatly from Kumon Heswall as it has boosted up there confidence and ability massively within Maths and English.

A huge thank you to all the amazing staff, Catherine in particular for all of your effort, support and commitment towards helping the children to reach their full potential.

Catherine especially puts a lot of hard work in and has really supported and helped our children. Catherine is very dedicated and has encouraged our children to be more confident and show the same at school where both of their abilities are higher than expected.

Our children both started at the age of 5 and has ever since been able to achieve marks and awards at way beyond the age appropriate all thanks to Catherine and the staff at Heswall.

Around 3 years ago !!! My son was behind with maths by 8 sets , I enquired at the Heswall Kumon Centre& met Catherine ... she Assessed my Son & we started the programme ... as a parent I felt like finally my son will get the help he needs , Kumon is not only a Commitment from your child but also from you as a parent ! I was willing to do anything after seeing my sons confidence in believing in himself at a very low :-( we work as a team & it has its highs & also times where when struggling on something new , my son would say he didn’t want to do it .
Through belief in himself which I praised him & still do on a daily basis the RESULTS are OUTSTANDING !!!!!
We are in such a good routine it’s part of our life :-)))) my son is on target now of where he is supposed to be & this brings with it CONFIDENCE !!!! Within him to take on anything new ! Without saying he can’t !!! One year ago I had him assessed for English & to my horror he was also soo behind this was not highlighted to me by his school !!! Onward & upward Cathrine got him started he is now only a couple of sets behind & we keep on going ! My son has just started high school.So if I as a parent can help support him through him continuing Kumon to ease & help him enjoy his education then that makes me feel I’ve done ✅ the best I can in helping him grow into a confident INDEPENDENT learner. Who will embrace his future with Confidence !! Our son studies both Maths and English with Kumon and we are so pleased with his progress. He loves the papers, the rewards and recognition he gets from Catherine. His independent learning skills are vastly improved and he can concentrate in school to work on his own. Overall, I would highly recommend this to any parent and I believe it is great value for money. As a parent, it really takes the stress out of homework as he comes home with a short paper for every day of the week. Fab concept and having a teacher who really praises him and believes in him has made him a confident, happy boy. Thank you Catherine!

We joined Kumon after my little girl started falling behind in maths after covid. Catherine and Shay make coming to the centre very welcoming and we loved the rewards for achievements! The repetitive nature means the lessons really stick and gives good discipline and routine, something that was important to us. It also works on a level that is very achievable and boosts confidence. My daughter is now back on track with maths and I’m sure that Kumon has massively helped with this. Thank you 🙏

I would not be without the Kumon programme – or Catherine! My boys began Kumon just over a year ago (aged 6yrs and 8yrs) as COVID-19 hit and schools closed. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Catherine discussed our goals and tailored the programme accordingly.

Kumon had been recommended to me by a fellow parent and friend who confided that for over a decade, Kumon had been her ‘little secret-weapon’ for her four children (7yrs to 18yrs). Like this parent, my oldest had been accelerated in school (Yr2-Yr4 skipping Yr3), my youngest looked to be on a similar trajectory, however both boys had significant areas of weakness, eg, launching themselves into work without reading the question properly, becoming easily distracted, quickly losing focus.

Catherine is dedicated, motivating, and undoubtedly skilled at what she does. Even within a few months, the difference was noticeable with the boys – particularly the older one who showed much greater maturity, and really began to focus in his work. This then spread into other areas of his studies.

The materials ensure that lessons have a breadth and depth, and Catherine knows exactly how to apply them to get the most out of each child. The stickers and prizes are fabulous incentives, whilst the Advanced Student Honour Roll instils a great sense of pride. They look forward to the monthly end-of-module mini-tests, rather than feeling stress/pressure, which will hopefully set them up well for their futures.

Thank You Catherine for your prompt service and guidance to my children at their time in Kumon. My son benefitted a lot from your teaching and you made it accessible for him to get guidance when he needed it. The work and help from your centre helped him achieve higher grades and we are very thankful for your support and encouragement to both our children. Keep up the good work !
