I graduated here in 2008 (BEng Mechanical Design) and I had a good overall experience. Some courses were quite basic in my opinion but I had feedbacks from other students that didn't agree, comparing with their previous experiences in other universities of the UK. Possibly, studying in Italy is far harder no matter if the language is native or not. I have a good memory of both the management and most of the teachers, although some of mine are retired nowadays.

The number of times I went there only to find out the lectures/seminars had been cancelled was unbelievable. The university couldn’t be bothered to contact students beforehand so this led to wasted time, effort and train tickets, poor planning by the university.
One of the lecturers leaked information of what was going to be on the psychology exam in a lecture. This led to the exam being scrapped while students were in the middle of taking it. Only the coursework from that topic was accepted, so students who perform better in exams were put at a disadvantage.
Another lecturer ordered students out of the class for turning up. This is because a previous lecturer changed the course start time from 9am to 10am however when that lecturer left the new one assumed the course started at 9am so when students came in at 10am she went crazy. Poor quality lecturers.
From my experience the university doesn’t care about you, they just care about your money. I would not recommend this university.

Lectures and seminars cancelled seemingly at random without any notice to the students who are paying thousands to be there. Lecturers will happily lie and make offensive statements to you . Made an official complaint but it was never acted on and was continually gaslighted. No help for those with mental health issues. Just spend the extra couple of hundred pounds and go somewhere that's actually worth being in dept for.

4 gobby female students from Solent University just tried to push me off my bike on a road crossing outside the uni when I sounded my hooter as they walked into my path. They were of course engrossed in their phones. One day, with luck, they'll try that with a 40 ton truck.

The university authorities need to remind their students that they are temporary non-taxpaying guests here, and should show a little respect for elderly permanent residents, and the city centre isn't a student campus.

I am a Solent University graduate and this is my honest comment. If you really want a route to a successful career after graduation DO NOT PICK this uni. This university has no connection with the industry whatsoever although they bang on how they know the industry and prepare you to get a job.

Good venue. But the food shop closed to early.

I'll be starting here as a Deck Cadet later this month, and although I've only visited the main campus a handful of times, I'm been thoroughly impressed and blown away each time about how smart the whole building is. The one area that I was totally wowed by was how realistic the shipping simulators were for the Warsash cadets, so even though I won't use this building as much as other students, I'd definitely recommend looking at Solent Uni if you're looking at where to go for further studies!

They have sent the debt collectors for me for over £6,000 of "tuition fees" for tuition I never received. Absolute disgrace.
