The best campus I have ever been to. I went for my Son's graduation and the presentations were mind blowing. The serenity, organising, ushering. I was very impressed all round. Keep it up University of Essex.

I have not studied at Essex but visited campus a couple times as a prospective student. The place reminds me very much of UEA in Norwich; lots of green space, a lovely lake but ugly concrete buildings. Seems like a nice place though and people were friendly

Architecturally questionable at best, but the central layout around communal squares, surrounded by hundreds of acres of beautiful parkland makes this a wonderful place to spend 3 years in spite of that. I studied here over 30 years ago and it still retains its wonderful 'vibe.' Remains one of the better performing non Russell Group universities across all metrics. A great choice for decent people seeking higher education in supportive, wellbeing rich surroundings

Great Open Day. Very warm & friendly atmosphere. Young & vibrant with stalls, freebies and lots of places to sit for chat & a snack. Impressive facilities & lots scope fir opportunities & creativity.

I will try to sum up my whole year as a Master's international student who took debt and worked hard to pay the tuition. I wanted to give a one-star rating to the University. However, some staff are fully committed to their job and push for a good student experience. But most of them just come to pass working hours and go home without a clear commitment to the goal of their job. And the second reason for the scenery that the park around campus provides. ------------------ However, other reasons make the experience not suitable for a university. ------------------ First, accommodation services are inefficient. I had to change the mattress because it hurt my back; a guy came and saw the bed, lazy enough to change it said, "I need a paper from the doctor saying it hurts my back". Another thing is they only let you see the accommodation when you arrive before you go live in it. And contracts are signed before the viewing. ------------------ Second, as int. students, we get culture shocks that limit our adjustment to the UK and Uni. life. I suffered and paid the price when I arrived at the course late because the Uni. was late in issuing the CAS letter. I saw another female in my flat who suffered a culture shock severely and did not know what to do. We went to many places on campus, and they sent us RAs, this was only one case where an international student suffered. There needed to be a professional staff to help direct international students adjust to campus life or UK life. By the end of the year, I was surprised most suffered of things post-culture shocks, such as depression and anxiety. Advice to the Uni. call international students, and say, 'Hi, is there something that we are not doing right?' it will help. ------------------ Third: As high-paying international and masters students, expect you are the most paying and the least treated. Not asking much, but any international student will realize that the priority of a "Good for Business" will be to focus on undergraduates because they are here for the long term. As you an international student, you are temporary. The surprise is that the campus has more than %50 international students who feel mistreated. I remember the most thing that international students were mentioned in the event that gathered us to take pictures of the diverse environment of international students for the Uni. marketing experience. ---------------- Fourth: Campus jobs are very hard to get for us. And you will get it if there are no local people or staff will fill it. If you are lucky, you will get the lower-paying ones. As for getting jobs after graduation in Uni. It is even harder. There is no clear policy in their employing students or graduates. So, do not waste time on lengthy applications. That will be rejected after weeks with a blink without telling you why. Advice: if the University is in the business in building people, advise international students on where they can improve to get a job and give them jobs. If the policy goes against employing international students, tell them not to waste your time. ----------------- Fifth: Lecturers, just read the slides and go. Do not be surprised. That is how it goes. Asked for help but not giving much time to show the student how to improve. As for the rest, I did not bother to ask. And relayed on youtube to fill in the gap. Advice: when a student asks for help, know that it took them a while to build the courage to ask about their struggle, especially when they might have language barriers and come from a different country that teaches in another language. ----------------- Sixth: Good activities such as EssexStartups you can enrol in. That is a nice experience to learn from. But they summed up my experience of white bias presence. ----- In summary: International students Look for places outside Essex with a more diverse region. UoEssex: Put yourself in the shoe of an international master's student.

Uk has a unique and multicultural environment. Uk degrees are worldwide recognized. Essex campus is very beautiful and unique.
