Lovely environment in which to study. Degree course gives lots of support and choice of modules to students, particularly developing their employability skills.

The best university for all students whether international or local. I travelled from London to find a place filled with hard working students and amazing lecturers who work tirelessly to ensure we get an education, not only a degree (unlike most universities that only care about their ranking). Surrey puts its students first and ensures a fair environment for all students of all backgrounds and religions. A very diverse university and a very approachable team of lecturers, staff and security. Everyone feels appreciated here and everyone is treated fairly.

People I must mention are;

Dr Lorenzo Santorelli, an amazing person and in my opinion the best lecturer in this university, really goes out of his way to ensure we learn and is extremely passionate about his subject which made me and others in my class grow a passion too.

Dr Alfred Thumser, a very lovely lecturer who focuses on educating us and doing a weekly class to check up on our mental health. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet at this university and an all-round amazing person.

Dr Mohammad Asim, a very friendly lecturer who is extremely passionate about his subject and helps his students as much as he can to ensure we learn. Not only does he ensure we get good grades but he teaches us in depth to allow us to gain better knowledge to prepare ourselves for the working world.

Dr Alison Cottell, in my opinion she is the number one supporter of students at this university, she puts us first and always provides us with amazing content to learn and she is very passionate. Dr Cottell helped me find my route in education and helped me plan my future as a scientist. I honestly can’t express how grateful I am to have Dr Cottell as a lecturer. It was amazing being in her class learning too.

This is the best university ever, I had to go out of my way to show my appreciation for my lecturers and university. If your going to study biomed, Surrey is the way forward 100%.

As an international student, I would not recommend this uni. The school will create more stress and trouble than help, especially regarding the well-being and accommodation. If you have any issues, I recommend you to rely on yourself. Do not waste your time to contact the departments in this uni if it’s not necessary. Because they won’t really help you, they will only ask you to contact anyone else.

It is a great place to research and learn as one of the best 50s universities in UK, Undertaking PhD in this institution gave me an open-ended career pathway to further my research and self-determined.

Multiple emails sent to admission team, they kept ignoring me
My course was supposed to start on 19/09, by 16/09 I did not have even confirmation that my studies will go ahead.
Sent them email including the magic word ‘dispute my deposit payment’ then magically they managed to complete the checks, just to be told I will need to re-send the code for settlement status.
Few angry emails over finally told that the week 19/09 is only welcoming week which the assumed date and the course is starting the week after with pre-registration deadline 07/10. Also been told I will have to request further information from third department for my timetable because they can’t be bothered to help.
My student loan is delayed because of their negligence, im loosing another great offer from great university by wasting my time with Surrey. Regretting accepting their offer.
All im hoping for now is for my bank to help me with the dispute for my deposit

Avoid at any costs

The admission team is money sucking machine without any human skills or whatsoever

We were impressed on the open day, finding everything on campus my daughter would need. So convenient to have the sports centre there which is good for recreation and part time work. Very impressed!
