AVOID, UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNRELIABLE.

My daughter booked to have her chairs re-upholstered by Cornelia, booking 5 weeks ahead as this was the earliest date available and as she was in a rush to get them finished before the arrival of her baby. The date was confirmed by Cornelia and she spent a significant amount of money on material to have the service completed. She attempted to make contact with Cornelia multiple times as the arranged date approached, only to receive extremely delayed responses. Cornelia re-confirmed the date a week prior and confirmed she had brought the material. 3 days before the arranged date my daughter messaged Cornelia to enquire when it would be convenient time to drop the chairs. She has since had her messages ignored only days before having the chairs done, with not even the decency to say ‘I’m really sorry I will no longer be doing your chairs for XYZ reason’. The appointment date has since passed and my daughter is still yet to receive an explanation. Out of respect you would expect this at the bare minimum to allow someone to book elsewhere. My daughter is now unable to find another upholsterer at short notice before the arrival and is confused as to why someone would act so unprofessionally, knowingly encouraging a client to purchase material if they never intended to complete a service. It is extremely rude and unprofessional to string someone along for 5 weeks believing that you are going to complete a service, to then ignore their messages when the chairs are due to be dropped off. Very strange and rude behaviour. Avoid.
