Bought a VW Golf for my daughter Nov 2020 from Mike at Small Car Company, which from previous experiences of buying cars at other dealers was an absolute pleasure. Not only the buying process but the after sales was unreal. We found that the car had a small coolant leak after driving for 2 days, made one phone call and was advised to drop car off when suitable for me for them to look at. Picked the car up with this issue repaired and was advised that they had replaced the Cam belt as well as it was not 100% this was all at no cost to myself.
The company's response history to reviews says it all, it appears that any potential customer who expresses even the slightest hint of dissatisfaction is, in their view, either lying or a competitor.
For clarity, I did not refuse to buy the car because of the wheels. The car had clearly not been prepared at all, the images sent to me avoided the defects in the body paint, and at no time did I indicate that I was satisfied with the car based on the images. I was not expecting a car in immaculate condition but there is a difference between wear and tear and down right neglect.
I was aware that the wheels needed refurbishing, I had already been in contact with a garage who had quoted me for the full refurbishment at a price I was happy with. The fact that the condition of rest of the car, both inside and out, left a lot to be desired played a huge part in my decision not to purchase the car. The final deciding factor was Mike's attitude.
Based on my experience with this company and the intimidating behaviour I have experienced since I left the review, I am relieved that I did not take them up on their offer to deliver the car to my address. I dread to think of the confrontation I would have faced had I rejected the car once it had arrived.
Despite the fabricated stories and the manipulation, I refuse to remove my review as I believe honest reviews help honest people to make good decisions.
RESPONSE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE: I was prompted to leave a review on my experience with this company by Google and as a result of my honesty, Mike has harassed me via WhatsApp and telephone calls between 7 am and 12 pm today demanding that I remove the review. It is not acceptable and, after my brief encounter with him, along with his response, I am really not surprised at his behaviour at all.

During the test drive I'd noticed a service light on the dash
I negotiated for a service tobe carried with the agreed price.
The car was delivered at the agreed time.
However the oil had only been topped up to above the maximum mark.
I queried this with Mike and Mike was extremely helpful it sorting out the issue and rearranged the service with another Garage. Excellent customer service
Purchased a Audi from them for 16k so not a cheap purchase. On viewing it had the oil warning light on, so it had a oil change and valet between me viewing and collecting. On arriving home, i realised the tonneau cover was not in the boot( it was lying in the boot with the mats, so called and asked to check if the valet/garage had it, told they would ask Mike. after chasing for months, i never got the tonneau or a responce about replaceing.
When i got the log book, and i could check the online MOT it stated that the breaks were recorded as being very low, again spoke to the office who advised me to go to a local garage and have them checked, which i did and then called to let them know the disks and pads where recommended to be replaced, again never heard back from them even after numerous calls, and always fobbed of with differnt people to speak to, Andy, Colin & Mike the main names who never seem to be there....
Well the MOT was due and i needed to replace the discs and pads, and the warranty doesnt cover it as there werent broken.
